We pointed to the obvious: Barrack Dukakis margines were blacks in red states Dems don't win (Carolinas, deep south, western mountain states) & winesippers in university towns and Berkeley and Madison,WI.

We pointed to the obvious baggage Hussein-Obama had: Resko, Ayers Wright, obnoxious wife, No resume or accomplishment whatsoever, "present" votes, Senate absenteeism and vacancy...

and we pointed out the obvious: GOP couldn't damage Clinton's unfavorability ratings whereas they could wreak havoc with BD's and that the Clinton's not only had a long success record of beating the GOP smear machine: but that the public was well familiarwith their economic record-y'know the single most impt issue this year.

But... the nuts were going to shove this shipwreck on the ticket, no stopping them, damned the torpedos. Nothing would stop them and anything went: Race-baiting, all the GOP's debunked slime from the 90s, Donna Brazilles disasterous campaigning for Al Gore and John Kerry.

Nope they did what they do best: ran and got defeat from victory's jaws and now of course as always it's somebody elses fault.
