The vast substance free entertainment industry....
[Read the article: CNN's John King responds]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I wonder if these guys who always blow off the blogs and try to act so dismissive of their influence ever connect the dots between the dwindling of their readership/viewership and the rise of the internet? Do they have a frat boy oath to always give the same response to criticism? They are surprisingly thin skinned for people who love to peel the skin off anyone the group does not like.I really don't think we have a functioning 4th estate anymore just a vast entertainment industry. This was brought into stark relief during the New Hampshire primary when they were all having so much fun dancing on Hillary's grave. It is too hilarious that she rose from the dead and bit them in the butt!

Please explain the Nevada caucus rules...
[Read the article: Obama in the Women's Building!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]We have all heard about the teachers union trying to change the rules at the last minute. Is there anything to Bill Clinton's claim that somehow this gives the gambling worker's vote five times the weight?

Thanks Joan...
[Read the article: Dolores Huerta: "Como se llama" Obama?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Thanks so much for this piece. I know that I would never in a million years get such clear reporting from the MSM they have devolved to the point that they are not worth listening to for factual information.

Someone has to vet Obama.....
[Read the article: The knives come out in South Carolina]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I did not enjoy seeing two great candidates going at each other but it served a couple of good purposes. The press would rather see Clinton lose than do their job and vet Obama. The Clinton's have had to do it themselves. I'm not saying they don't relish a fight.Obama has made some mistakes in his overreaching to Independents and Republicans (i.e.the Reagan comments) he is running for the Democratic nomination and feeding into the republican mythology on Reagan and demonizing narrrative of liberals does not sound right to the ears of the base (you know the people who nominate you!).He has also dissed the boomers too many times in his snarky little ways.Boomers are still active in politics and they vote. Retired boomers are networked and great ground troops. If Obama were to get the nomination and the Republican smear machine starts up what do you think is going to happen to all the Independents and Republicans who flirted with him? They will flock to McCain.Better to think about these things now.

Obama supporters need to grow up a little...
[Read the article: Obama's historic run heads south]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I know that Obama sincerely wants to rise above typical political mudslinging but his ardent supporters, who are so resentful when he gets splattered, are the first to turn vicious. On all of the different conversation threads I read I see Clinton supporters saying if Obama wins the nomination they will support him. Not so with Obama supporters if they don't get what they want they are going to pick up their marbles and go home.Is this because they are young and immature? Is it the independents who won't join a party and fight for real principles so they can lay back and be ironic and critical. This does not seem like truely strong progressive support to me,more like a personality cult.Voters who really want a change in policy and recognize the real trouble this country is in should vote for the winner whomever that might be.

Thanks again..
[Read the article: Obama and Clinton on Reagan and Republicans]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Joan I know I always start out saying thanks but you so often give voice to what I am thinking. I too think the Clinton's are doing Obama big favor if he ends up winning the nomination.I get the impression that many of his supporters are paying attention for the first time in their lives. What do they think the Republicans are going to do play nice during the general because that is the way Obama would prefer it?I agree that he made a mistake with his comments on Reagan and it makes me question what his real politics are? My theory on his distain for boomers and the fights of the 60s relate more to the nomadic life his mother lead and the basic conflict she put in his life with the decisions she made all seeming due to classic 60s idealism on multiculteralism. The issue of race in the 21st century is so muddled that the Clintons cannot critize anything about him without being accused of playing the race card. Even the Billy Shaheen comments which everyone agrees were inappropriate have been characterized as such. When people tried to bring up Bush's past drug use were they accused of doing so because he was white? The media jumped on this and cried racism because in their minds they connect drug use and the ghetto. This in itself is a bias that no one has given any notice.

Let's not be naive...
[Read the article: Update: Michelle Obama disagrees with me]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Anyone who thinks we are not still fighting the battles of the 60s need look no further than Katrina or the tea shirt that Roger Stone has designed to combat Hillary,or the roll back of environmental laws under Bush.Obama makes major mistakes when he feeds the mythology of the right whether it is by praising Reagan, using Republican talking points when discussing social security or trying to throw boomers under the bus.Personaly, I think the wrong Obama is running for a tough job.Nothing vague or wishy washy about Michelle. Her husband on the other hand who is he? What is he willing to fight for?
