  • Thanks for taking on Tucker...

[Read the article: Why David Vitter matters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Thanks Joan for taking on Tucker who has been even more obnoxious than ususal on this Vitter thing. I guess he believes that "boys will be boys" as long as they are Republican boys.He is such a snake I wish someone would do a video of all of his snarkey comments on Bill Clinton and of course Hillary too, it would probably be very long.Of course Vitter is an example of the worst of his bred but his wife and her mean and heartless comments about Hillary during her long embarassment, now wanting this to be a private family matter that is really rich. You know if you wait long enough hypocrites of their ilk usually blow themselves up. I never take pleasure in another women's pain but this one is kinda hard to resist.

  • Clear Thinking...

[Read the article: The GOP is the party of the Iraq war]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I count on you for your clear thinking and this piece is a great example...thanks.

  • Way to go Glen....

[Read the article: Joe Klein and Beltway seriousness]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It is great to see that you are having an impact and taken seriously ( no pun intended) by the likes of Klein. You are moving the conversation towards some truth. I doubt if Klein would have written the response critizing Liberman without your prodding. I sometimes wonder if some of these guys do any homework at all. Did you catch Matthews with Tony Snow yesterday on Hardball? He did not dispute any of the falsehoods and omissions made by Snow, just talked about a future cozy shared bowl of chili when they can really talk....please.

  • Who was the tipster?

[Read the article: We'll go no more a-Rove-ing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Did I miss it? Does the public know who tipped off Rove that Matt Cooper had evidence against him? If not we need to know. Whoever it was needs to be exposed for the miserable creep they are. This lack of accountability has hurt our country so much, going back to Nixon. We need a cleansing of the harmful tactics and corruption that is chipping away at our Democracy. That can only happen through exposure and consequences.

  • Shameless

[Read the article: Ari Fleischer: It gets worse]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Just when you think this gang couldn't get anymore shameless they continue to amaze. I really don't know how Fleichscher can look himself in the mirror. These guys have a deficeit in their character, they have a completely undeserved sense of entitlement and a pathological lack of remorse.... government by sociopaths. When followed by the young man who speaks for Vote Vets.org it is so glaring.Thank you Joan for doing battle with them for the rest of us.

  • Luntz???

[Read the article: Barack Obama's Republican edge]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don't think I can trust Luntz or his motives for anything thing he says...don't you think he is also plays the Rovian chess game with information and opinions.I love Obama but I fear that the ugly right wing attack machine will figure out a way to make him appear weak and wooley headed. It seems this time around we need someone able to go toe to toe with them like Hillary. After eight years of Hillary running a smart government comprised of able individuals who hopefully can get our adgencies and institutions back in working order, then maybe Obama can lead us out of the left/right...red/blue paradigm.

  • Thanks Glen for framing it so well....

[Read the article: Forcing Larry Craig's resignation while embracing David Vitter]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The people who make up that Values Voter wing are haters plain and simple they always need some "other" to hate. Historically it has been Irish,Germans,Jews,Blacks,Women's Libbers now it's gays and Muslims (I suspect not only those of the facist Islamic terrorist variety) and Hispanics. How they became so esteemed by our whorish MSM has notheing to do with standing for principle and everything to do with power. I think they and the press should be called on it continually using the same reasoning you use in your excellent post.

  • You hit the nail on the head.....

    [Read the article: Various items]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

As usual Glen you were able to organize into coherent lanuage what has always floated through my mind with this outlaw gang...these guys are such geeks! I think the last six years has been the true ,revenge of the geeks, and our country is suffering just as the communities surrounding the school shootings have suffered. The same reasoning can be applied to the strong strain for the need to hero worship that runs through the whole far right movement, including the Christian Right.Journalists like Chris Matthews need therapy their need to hero worship is so great. It is male idenity crisis writ large.

  • The next generation.

[Read the article: Dan Rather stands by his story]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Those of us old enough to remember real news and trustworthy reporting are incredulous at what has happened to journalism, but what about the young ? Where do they get news they can trust? Thank God for Bill Maher, Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert but what will be the world view of young people informed by irony? This perfect storm of greed, selfish interests, corporatism, and an Administration dedicated to it, along with the insecurity of globalization and the realization that we can be attacked has created an environment that is truely frightening for many people. What we need are journalists dedicated to the facts guiding us through, but sadley for democracy that is not what we have.Pray that Dan Rather is successful and the whole sorry profession takes a long look in the mirror.

  • I love Obama too but..

[Read the article: The Democratic duel of the race]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

All the people writing about their admiration for Obama are so right in their comments. He is thoughtful, graceful, measured, real, intelligent, this country and the world could certainly benefit from his style of leadership. My problem is knowing who the electorate is, and knowing who the Republicans are, I don't think he can make it to the Whitehouse.
