Editor's choice....
[Read the article: Hillary's team crosses the line]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Interesting that you chose one letter to highlight and it is a love letter for Sen. Obama. Yes, he has some surrogates that go over the line but he is above it himself. It is the Clintons who are desperate and cynical.
The are far different sets of views on the behavior of the two candidates and their surrogates. It depends on each observers set of life experiences and world view.
My life experiencs as a midddle aged women who was once a struggling single mother; a retired special educator whose career was about advocating for a level playing field for kids with all kinds of disadvantages and disabilities, an active rank and file worker bee for the Democratic party, I bring these experinces with me as I view the competition for the nomination.
In my view Senator Obama was both arrogant and cynically dismissive of my vote when he said he was sure Hillary supporters would vote for him but he couldn't say the same about his voters. In my view he cynically played the race card after Hillary won New Hampshire when his campaign staff sent their memo out to the MSM promoting a list of the ways the Clintons were using race.In my view it is a tragedy he has stood by and allowed a couple who have had close ties with the AA community be tarred as racist to further his own ambition. In my view his remarks about "claws coming out and periodically feeling down" was cynically sexist. His dog whistles to Republicans and Independents when he praised Reagan were I hope cynical at best.In my view his gaming the caucus system with "Democrats for a day" to crush Hillary once and for all was both sexist and damaging to the party. In my view not allowing a revote in MI and Fl is antidemocratic and desperate.
Of course my views don't dovetail with the narrative the MSM and the online Bloger Boyz want to paint so they are ignored and underrepresented. Online people who have my views are told we are Archie Bunker types or old bitter feminists or so undereducated that we can't appreciate the finer points of a purely political speech made to save his own political skin.
I really don't know what people with my views will do if we end up with Obama as the Democratic nominee.I for one am getting a whole new take on the progressive community and I don't know if it is a club I want to be part of anymore.

Thanks Joan...
[Read the article: Why John Edwards hasn't endorsed Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Good article...I have been wondering about the Edwards. Elizabeth is my hero. Talk about authentic.I have always held the thought that the Edwards became political as a result of the loss of their son.I think the only way they could begin to heal was to get active helping others. They started small as I remember with programs for high schoolers in honor of Wade their son.It kind of grew out of that. It is no surprise what his politics would be since his legal career was defending people being screwed by corporations and his upbringing was working class. I always thought his problem with Obama was his complete lack of concern for the poor. He has no demonstratable history of reaching back and helping those he used as stepping stones to further his personal ambition.Obama has been dismissive of and condescending to Hillary supporters throughout his campaign who are both working class and women. He refused to go to Tavis Smiley's annual 'State of the Black Union' for fear of being typecast as the AA candidate. He keeps Jesse Jackson and other AA leaders underwraps (I miss Jesse's voice this election,he has always made sure poverty was discussed)Obama's online supporters seem to have zero compassion for anyone.Talk about scorched earth! It has taken me a while to come to this conclusion but I see him as a fraud who is hurting the party. He is changing it alright but as far as I can tell he is bringing in very selfish self centered people who want to feel hip and cool and be with the moment. They don't seem to give a damn about what the party has always stood for and neither does he.He and Michelle are all about he and Michelle.

My apologies to Uncle Fester....
[Read the article: Why John Edwards hasn't endorsed Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm sorry Uncle Fester I forgot about you and Delorosflower....I have always appreciated your warmth and sincerity and Dflowers caring attitude. I can't think well of your guy however because I have gone back as best as I can to see what he has done. I'm sorry but I only see ambition, which is not a bad thing unless you package yourself as something completely different.I am afraid many people will end up disillutioned and I worry that the party is going to blow up and we will lose the coalition that we have had in the past.
