I so completely agree with you. The MSM is showing themselves to be unable to grow and pivit with the times. They don't want to give up the old battles! They may have to stretch themselves to learn something new.I too wish we had a way to fire them. They are worse than useless they are counterproductive to the renewal of the country.

Like Aretha sings R-E-S-P-E-C-T if people don't start showing a little of it to the voters(something the Clintons have always known) we are going to lose again.

I know Joan is perfectly capable of defending herself but I think your criticism is misplaced. She is trying to explain how offended many Hillary supporters were at being accused of racism. When a person is attacked on one of their core bedrock life principles it is very hard to get over it. It remains a reason for many holdouts so it is a revelent topic. Many of us took MLK to heart and we do judge people on their character, which works both ways. Questioning the credentials of a person regardless of their race is following MLK's lead. The knee jerk acceptance of many white liberals of things about his campaign that were not above board makes me question why they feel so guilty?

I hope he gets lots of rest and family time and comes back restored for the fight. I also hope his campaign is not behind the leak of Hillary's memos during the campaign. I don't really trust Patti SD. We don't need any more intra party drama! It is hard enough for those of us who supported her to back him and we are slowly finding our way, we don't need to pushed back into a defensive crouch!

I have had it with the fanatics on both sides. The progressive blogoshere is in danger of becoming a silly mirror of the other side. There can be no humor when it comes to Obama,come to think of it he does not have much humor himself when he is not making fun of Hillary. Any cricism becomes racism. Like Columbo something small keeps niggling in my mind. Ed Rendell laughly recalled on 'Morning Joe', that before the primary got started in Pennslyvania he got a call from Obama reminding him that he 'will' be the nominee in the end, so not to do him any damage.

At the time it struck me as earily similar to Bush calmly telling us not to worry he would win Florida way early in the evening of election 2000.

The "fix" was in early. This is their reward.

Joan~ I just had to write a short note and thank you for your appearance on Hardball. I know you have leaned over backwards to be fair to both candidates and I appreciate your effort . It is what all journalists worthy of the title should be doing. However, your evenhandness has been rare.

You expressed a truth tonight. The Obama campaign and it's passive agressive tactics have split the party. I for one have now officially had it. I'm leaving the party. I decided a while ago that I will write in Hillary in November, but things have gone way too far and the Democratic leadership has done nothing to stop the demonization. Obama is a dangerous guy and should be stopped.I have learned enough about him and his Rove/Axelrod. I learned enough about how the DNC has aided and abetted in this miscarriage of the people's will, and laid the path for their chosen guy.This is a power grab within the party. The party deserves what it ends up with when this is all over. I haven't talked to one person in the last month who intends to vote for Obama. He will turn Missouri red.

I haven't bothered to read any of the comments because I have had it with that too.I would venture to guess however that they reveal that there are many more nutjobs out there that are dangerous to Hillary's safety than to Barry's.
