Original article: Obama's got ground game

@Kate

It's almost as if support for Hillary Clinton has been driven underground by nearly constant badgering, derision, and censure. Thankfully, there is the Internet. Only here do I find assurance that I'm far from alone in my thinking and firm preference for Clinton.

The left is truly it's own worst enemy. To my thinking the extreme right and left are the same irrationals but merely with different prejudices and intolerances. So how do you listen to the leftwing intolerants argue that their same (failed) strategies of 30 years are suddenly going to work. With all this at stake.

College students at the University of Texas, Austin are not going to win us an election. Or even Texas. These people don't even bother to LOOK at the electoral map or the demographics of support.

For example in 2004 George Soros sunk MILLIONS into the same moveon.org voices that have shoved Obama on us (along with the press and the GOP) and won got us not one seat in Congress. I repeat NOT ONE seat. They could have focused on the economy where all populists come together but noooooooo they were just going to go on and on and on and on and on with the anti-war rants. In a sane environment they would be discredited. To drive the point home Soros never wasted another penny on them.

Now all this I mean that is if your objective is to win. I'm long convinced now that the uber left doesn't WANT to win. They like losing too much and then feeling like martyr's as the Republicans give it to them hard. It's gotta have some kind of sexual satisfaction. There's no other way. It's just too sick for me. If Barrack Obama becomes the Democratic candidate I will declare myself an independent and take my checkbook with me. What in the hell is the point in being in a party where the point is to lose. Such a party does not deserve to exist and even as a lifelong Democrat that's where I am now. If the leftwing intolerants can round up enough black bigots and take aid from a hostile presscorps and Republican party just to make sure we lose than I'm OUT.

Incidentally I was politically active in the 90's while the press and the Republicans did everything they could to tear the Clinton's down short of a taxpayer funded investigation to dredge the swamps of Arkansas for bodies - and that was probably next. Including that Kangaroo Court Impeachment.

And through all of this they managed to work with Greenspan to close the deficits resulting in his easing up on the money supply which along with a tech savvy "new economy" administration gave us the best economy of my lifetime. they also had a rock solid smart cabinet; tons and tons of brights; Larry Summers and Robert Rubin avoided a global currency meltdown that began in Asia. Mexico paid us back our bailout with interest. The year 2000 predictions of computer chaos were thwarted from a massive effort by the federal govt to rewrite software. Terrorism attacks were thwarted. All as the Republican Congress and their nutbots like Scaife harassed them endlessly.

Those truly were the good old days. I'm stubborn enough to announce myself as a "Hillary 2008'r even in solidly Republican country. Or what used to be. This is what I truly believe would have been a Clinton win now. But will never be an Obama win.

I will have no pleasure at all in saying I told you so and no hope for the future. This was our last chance. Have a few skills you can do, save money and stay light on your feet. Worry about yourself now. What's coming is not good at all.

PS - message to the 24x7 Obamateur's

I hope the 24x7 Obamateur's are paid well for their role in foisting John McCain on us.

Because hell only knows they're going NEED every penny of it another six months or so after the GOP takes over EVERYTHING.

In the meanwhile try to have some e-courtesy, will ya? Remember those manners your mamma tried to teach you.

Re: Big load of nonsense

But she's not dead yet,

No, and she never will be. Particularly after the Obamateur goes down in a landslide defeat.

and I find it curious that you fault everyone except her campaign.

No you don't.

Obviously no candidate should have to fight both the nut left in their own party and then the big guns of the right too.

Al Gore had to do this with nuts from Nader (and his GOP friends) just like Hillary is having to from the Obamateur nut cases (and their GOP friends and MSM).

Back with Gore in 2000 many of us tried to save the left from going off a cliff and to show proof the Republicans were funding Nader and tampering with the Democratic outcome. After the election of course much evidence surfaced that the Repubs had been funding "Green candidates" all over the country in local and state and federal races.

Scores of supposed "Greens" as nasty as any Republican came to places like Salon.com tabletalk and trash talked Gore 24x7.

In the end Nader took enough votes in Florida to lead to the Bush debacle and enough to take New Hampshire among other places. Just those votes in New Hampshire or Florida would have given Gore the election handily.

After George W. Bush was inaugerated and rabidly began undoing every bit of good from the Clinton Administration from mid-eace stability to budget surpluses, the nuts who had spoiled the election promptly began to try to blame "Gore's poor campaign" in the same way you are.

I don't pretend to know if many of the Obamateur's here are serving as well-intentioned spoilers from the left or as willfull spoilers from the rightwing spoiler, but spoilers indeed they are and you will be held accountable as such both now and in the future.
