These self-same Clintons completely sold out the poor with "Welfare Reform" and sold out the middle class with NAFTA (along with giving the banking/credit industry every item on their wish lists) so excuse me if I'm a bit skeptical about any real liberal progress coming from a HRC presidency.

See, this is the sort of stubborn and untrue Pure tripe the left spouts that makes us fight among themselves and has handed damned near every election to the GOP since they split the vote on Hubert Humphrey. And it really pisses me off. It's one thing to willfully delude yourself ; but to do it pretending to care about the poor you keep handing over Republicans is truly morally bankrupt.

In fact rather than declaring "war on the poor" more people climbed out from under poverty in the Clinton years than had under Nixon, Reagan and Bush 1 combined .

The Clinton welfare revision in fact allowed people to remain on it for 2.5 full years before they had to get work - that's plenty of time for ANYONE to be on welfare, particularly when 23 million meaningful jobs were created in the Clinton Administration.

You don't have to defend yourself to anyone here. The rabid Obama supporters aren't exactly shy about nonsensically promoting a guy with no experience and no plan as a savior.

It's perfectly fair game to point out the Republicans are going to tear him a new you know what once his Senate (non) record is exposed.

re: Ron Smith, I've very quickly checked the basic facts on Senator Obama and found that he became a Senator when the war in Iraq was well-advanced and the American strategy was running into difficulties. Invasion of Iraq: March 200

Very true. He is the Schindler of the Iraq war, conveniently taking an anti-stance after things were going south. He also conveniently hasn't voted on anything near controversial. (except for 300 billion dollars for President Bush to spend on Iraq - something his supporters conveniently overlook as they idiotically insist that Mrs. Clinton is all responsible for Iraq). Obama was running for President from the day he won the Senate - which is of course ridiculous (while at the same time his adulators insist, moronically, that Mrs. Clinton is the overtly ambitious candidate.

Most amusing, is the hard lefties, whom above all, loathe and fears all things Christian, is promoting a candidate with no experience but who will be very much indebted to black evangelicals and will run a far far more religously oriented Administration than Mrs. Clinton - if he got elected - which he won't.

  • @ljwalker - Thank you!

Thank you for posting factual information. Many things can be said of Mrs. Clinton - namely her competence intimidates stupid men. But to say she hasn't accomplished anything, or that somehow this do-nothing overly ambitious idiot from Chicago is even in her league is just off the map in recklessness. Even the Republicans had to admit she was a Class A Senator and I'm sure that wasn't easy.

Thank you for pointing out too that Obama has missed over 80% of the Senate votes. Boy are his adulators in for a surprise if the press ever decides he IS the winner and opens their RNC sponsored fire.

And while we're on the subject of voting records: Senator Obama isn't doing himself any favors by missing close to 80 percent of the Senate votes on major legislation. He is listed as NV (Not Voting) quite frequently. Now I understand that there are times during the campaign that he might not be able to vote on all measures. But if you look at Hillary Clinton's voting record during this period compared with Barack Obama's voting record, it raises questions about his commitment to change.

Finally, there isn't enough space here to list everything Hillary Clinton has accomplished in her political life, but here are a few: passage of Family Medical Leave Act and Americans With Disabilities Act in the mid-1990s; creation of the children's health insurance program in Arkansas (1908s); development of a fund and organizations to better address abused, neglected children in Arkansas (1990s); created and led an international coalition of human rights advocates to address inequality and human rights abuses of women in countries like China, India, and Middle Eastern countries (1990s); cosponsored the SCHIP legislation in the Senate (2002?); created a national blue-ribbon panel of labor, women's and children's advocates to find solutions to child care problems (1990s); legal advocate for neglected, abused, abandoned children as a lawyer for Children's Defense Fund (1980s-1990s); served as advocate and spokesperson for WOW - Wider Opportunities for Women task force to get women into skilled trades jobs and apprenticeships (1990s); led health care reform during her husband's presidency.

I cannot begin to list and elaborate on all of Hillary Clinton's legislative accomplishments/bills/resolutions in this space. For anybody interested in checking it out, the information is available at the Thomas governmental database (http://www.thomas.gov) and/or Project Vote Smart (http://www.vote-smart.org).

  • Not to mention...

[Read the article: Bill Clinton: The Chris Matthews of South Carolina]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Yet Matthews makes one sexist remark after the other and is paid big bucks, his own show, and is protected and supported by his fellow hosts, Schuster and Scarborough who vouch for his character.

Seems to me just about everyone gets away with bashing H. Clinton in ways nobody would dream of attacking anyone else. And fat people thought they were the last group it was okay to discriminate against.

But hey Oh-bama says we don't need to worry about all that tired old sixties stuff, so who cares if the daughter you paid 50k to send to college is going to get paid 40% less for doing the same job and all that boring old stuff.

Sorry Glenn, you are so wrong.

and not for the first time by a long shot.
