but i like the same thing about you that i like about Barack - you're both intelligent (though Barack is brilliant - he's not showing it much nowadays (his handlers said he sounded too much like a professor)).
Well, I suppose then we'll toast each other quietly across the bar. Incidentally I have never disputed Barrack Obama's intelligence; clearly he is a very educated man- even if I happen to believe a woman who went to Wellesley and Yale is just as impressive that way. I just happen to believe Obama's personal ambitions cloud his judgement on his own capability and that of what's best for the country at this time.
I am a pragmatist; one of those pesky people who believe the best way to accurately gauge someone's future behavior is to look at their past... and when I do that of the obamateur I can't help but notice that not one single poor soul in south Chicago is any better off for his having been their legislator and for his rise to stardom.
Thank you for your articulate clarification. I read through it and couldn't find a whole lot to disagree with, and I was trying to too! Peace be to you too and Godspeed. You and DS have restored a little bit my faith in the Obama supporters.
No, Shawn's not a she. Please send your e-payment directly to me instead of your co-vulgarians.
BTW, poor Gary Kucinich (Dennis's bro) lives nearby and has to suffer the same small-time Republican politics that I do.
And I care because?
If you're tired of being a political minority what to do is very simple: stop making the same strategic political mistakes again and again and again. And again.
You said you're a teacher, so learn from history. By now 30 years later you should.
And also, if you're a teacher shame on you for tolerating bigotry against the "right" people to hate.
Yes, I believe it bears witness to the intelligence and reasoning of hispanics voting for Mrs. Clinton when not only isn't she a member of their culture but when exit polls consistently show their concerns to be 1) economy 2) healthcare and education. They fact that they aren't voting lockstep like blacks in anywhere near the numbers adds to the notion that there's probably more reasoning going on whatever plate at the table they ultimately end up at. They are politically savvy, frequently activists, and highly participant in the political process, know how to focus on what really matters and I'm proud to have them in the party.
Conversely many things few do support a conclusion that blacks are voting emotionally for Obama because he's half-black and they go beyond my own (ample) anecodotal evidence too. Statistically 100% of the black vote is voting for Obama in a lockstep vote. The fact that nobody can say a positive word about any other candidate or question Obama's campaign and qualifications without being subject to endless longwinded screeds, dripping with vulgarity, and full of projections about the race of the person that wrote the post is also indicative of it being a "race thing". Last, the fact that blacks are finally the number of blacks participating in the political process and registering to vote spurting up this election is also indicative if not conclusive.
The most distressing thing of all to me is that you've succeeded in making me cry. I am literally sobbing, and I now have to go explain to my husband and three kids that I've allowed a complete stranger to affect me like this.
Well, gosh, I'm sincerely sorry. In the event you're being sincere about this and you're truly that sensitive my suggestion is that you avoid political message boards at election time.
My reference was in your silence as you not only watched your co-Obamteur's falsely accuse me of racism and hurl the vilest ad hominens imaginable, but that you then sought "dirt" on me from the same persons engaging in such hideous behavior and that were bringing up my supposedly "white male" being in every single posting.
I hate to think where you'd be if you had 5 or 10 persons signing in under about 50 alias just to call you a racist and hurl vulgar slurs at you the way I've had to day in and day out. Note part of the reason I've refused to leave and admittedly have occasionally pushed buttons is because of this, something which should not be reassuring to Obama supporters about HRC supporters switching allegiances since I am a lifelong Democrat.
However I sincerely have no desire to bring someone to tears. In the event you are sincere, I will go.
you seem to be a good man in many ways - even if you are woefully misguided in your choice of a primary candidate.
is not hard for me to say nice things about the Jewish when indisputably my Jewish cousins are as refined as armagnac next to this fighting welchman.
@Lateagain, apology accepted and I certainly am happy to have you participate. However I know what you mean about needing a break.
How do you figure? Everything I'm saying is supported mathematically. The larger the numbers of result sets the more likely it is that complicated variables were involved.
When there is only one outcome it's highly more indicative of a simple cause and effect result.
Note I've been careful to say indicative in all of this discussion.
