I don't vote on any one issue. I'm a conservative and vote for the most conservative candidate be it Repub or Dem. Abortion is not in the top 5 most important issues for me. You brought up abortion and gay marriage first.
Obama stated in the debate that knowing when a fetus gets human rights is "above his pay grade". And you mentioned that I would have to prove to you when life begins. Does is not seem odd that when in doubt in an uncertain situation that you would side with death? Is this line of reasoning logical in say death penalty cases? If in doubt about guilt...kill?
Are you done masterbating now? It's nice to see that lefties continue to engage in civil discourse.
You both seem to be hung up on religion. Where in my posts is my reasoning based on religion? Believing an 8 1/2 month old in the womb needs protection has nothing to do with religion. Obviously neither of you have ever seen an ultrasound. FTT: where did I write "stopping gays from getting married is more important than...everything"? Interracial marraige has absolutely nothing to do with same sex marriage. Amendments to the Constitution have a high hurdle to overcome, so why all the comnplaining? And again, I'm not talking about life at conception...is an 8 1/2 month old a worthless piece of crap because the mother is inconvenienced? Libs want to protect the most obscene cases of late-term abortions because they're worried about the slippery slope. You can't even admit that.
Name a single law put into place by the Bush Admin forcing anyone in this country to adhere to Christian beliefs...chirp chirp...chirp (silence). Stating our "opinion", based on your post, is apparently not allowed. Libs make laws all the time based on their beliefs (see State of Mass and same sex marriage).
By your reasoning, only people in the armed forces should decide when to fight, etc. Poppycock. If a guy wants to marry his sister (or his dog for that matter) it doesn't affect me either, but pa-leeze. Or if a guy in another state murders another person it doesn't affect me either, but pa-leeze. You need to get your arguments in order. Marriage has always been defined as between a man and a woman. Libs such as yourself want to change that. Who's sticking who's nose in who's bedroom by wanting to change the status quo? There are profound implications throughout society if marriage is redefined (not just between the 2 getting married). And you've yet to answer whether an 8 1/2 month old in the womb is a worthless piece of tissue or a person.
Why is it that when conservatives give their opinion on an issue such as gay marriage, abortion, etc. we're sticking our noses where they don't belong? Libs aren't sticking their noses in when laws are made in their favor? Redefining marriage for the first time in history is not sticking your nose where it doesn't belong? Just Libs should decide on abortion? Honestly, a baby in the womb at 8 1/2 months is not worthy of human rights, it's just a piece of tissue, and to deny a woman the "right" to terminate is denying her privacy? Pa-leeze.
First off, everyone has to acknowledge that the "debate" format was unique, effective and fair. It compared apples to apples for once. Why all you secular lefties are getting your panties in a bunch because Rick Warren moderated is typical religious bigotry since both candidates are avowed Christians. Did they not have a clue what they'd be in for? The debate revealed stark contrasts between the two candidates: McCain is certain of his positions and Obama is not. Lefties like to interpret that as McCain being too simplistic, which of course makes Obama more cerebral. I interpret Obama's nuanced responses as that of a typical politician that does not want to take a firm position on any controversial issue, lest there's a chance of alienating any potential votes. People on either side of an issue walk away not sure of where Obama stands, leaving open an interpretation that vaguely fits their position. I personally prefer a leader with conviction.
