Imus firing

No matter how bad what Don Imus said is, it cannot compare with the degradation of women, the use of the "n" word and racism in rap, especially gangsta rap. How many 12 to 18 year olds do you know that listen to Don Imus? I have a son in high school and a daughter in college. Neither of them even know who Imus is but the words b---h and "ho" are everyday vocabulary in their world. It is the upmost in hypocracy to blame Imus or to think that firing him will make a difference. It is the music, videos, games and movies the kids have access to. It is in their face everyday. Where is the outrage about that?! If the African American community can muster this much outrage and media attention about Imus they can do the same with their own celebraties use of degrading images of women and trashy language and if they do not, their outrage is nothing but hypocracy. It is all about the green.

What's really scary!

What's really scary is that the right wing here in rural bible belt NC are locked and loaded. They are ready to go to war. They only listen to Christian Radio, read Christian newspapers, watch Christian TV (and Fox news), they even have their own publishing houses for Christian fiction and they do not ever listen to the other side.

There is hope. A mom with her middle school son, pulled him away from a poster for Obama and told him you could not vote for Obama and be a Christian. Her son stood up to her and said "Yes you can". I bet he's going to join the rest of the home schooled kids.

Yes, it's Obama's war now

An uninspiring speech sells a dubious policy, but progressives who feel betrayed have only themselves to blame
