This is just political hay making...

..if a Republican was president, and wanted to try terrorists in stateside courts, Republicans & the American traditional media would be praising the Republican president for "displaying remarkable courage."

They would be framing the Republican president as a masculine, John Wayne-type hero who would just assume tear the guts out of KSM in Atlanta or Boise as he would in Kandahar.

We would be subjected to such fawning bullshit as: "When it comes to serving justice to terrorist assassins, our president is showing great faith in American courts."

It's just typical wingnut bait & switch were literally anything Obama is for, they are against.

It's fear-mongering...

..coupled with a hysterical hatred for literally everything Obama does.

If Obama chose to try these terrorists on foreign soil, then the right would be screaming: "Obama is so ashamed of the American judicial system, he refuses to try terrorists in American courts."

In other words, they were going to bitch & scream no matter what Obama did.

Dick Cheney & his kid (two of the biggest right wing cowards on the planet) are prime examples of the utter cowardice extolled by America's right wing.

Saw the Maddow segment last night...

...Glenn, I wish Olbermann & Maddow would phase out the Beltway wind-up toys like Fineman, Wolffe, Alter, etc. & replace them with authentic voices such as yourself.

Glenn, your only problem is you are slightly too intellectual & focused for the cable news format. They usually prefer their pundits to offset salient points with a little gratuitous tomfoolery. Some corny zingers to keep all the "left-leaning" observations "fair & balanced."

But I appreciate somebody who knows what they are talking about & does not come across as a fake when they are doing it.

Please, Rachel Maddow, less Melissa Harris-Lacewell & more Glenn Greenwald.

You are correct...

..about the embarrassing Daily Kos diary concerning the Huffington Post.

This morning, in the comments section of that diary, I (in so many words) called the diary crap. Daily Kos loves to purity troll anything & everything "liberal"...DK applies a bullshit "Is it a clone of Daily Kos?" litmus test to everything not Daily Kos.

Of course, you've got to realize when a Keith Olbermann (KO as a subject matter) diary is posted on Daily Kos, invariably, close to 50% of the comments in that Keith Olbermann diary will be anti-Keith Olbermann comments.

The problem with Daily Kos is that it now has almost 1/2 a million registered members. When any website has that many registered members, & virtually all .5 million registered members are presented forums where they can express themselves, it stands to reason the discourse is going to get skewed with stupidity.

Obama White House...

...needs to dumb this down & say:

"Lying is not a political stance. Fox News constantly lies, yet they attribute their lies to noble conservative ideology. In America, lies are not part of any political repertoire."

In America, a large segment of the population plus the traditional media think lies construe a political stance. That's why the establishment media takes up for Fox. Because they sincerely believe the lies Fox tells about Obama constitute a valid political platform.

That's why when Rachel Maddow & Keith Olbermann debunk & expose the lies told on Fox, they are not thanked for it. Instead, they are attacked for spreading "liberal clap-trap."

America has assigned moral relativism to the conservative side of it's political philosophy &, over the last decade, the country has paid dearly for it.

The real Manchurian Candidate...

Ironic how Republicans love to use the movie 'Manchurian Candidate' to frame Obama, yet these GOP House members are literal clones of Senator Johnny Iselin.

That would be the same Senator Johnny Iselin who constantly screamed about how [fill in random number] Communists have invaded the senate.

Iselin got tired of using a random number, so he asked his wife (the satanic bitch who transformed her son into an assassin so she could gain political power) if, from now on, she would give Iselin permission to use a specific number of Communist infiltrators.

When Iselin was asking this question, he was pouring Heinz 57 steak sauce on his steak.

Naturally, at his next speech, Iselin roared: "There are exactly 57 Communists infiltrators within this government body!"

Ironic how the wingnuts hijack the movie 'Manchurian Candidate' as an Obama bashing device, only to have 'Manchurian Candidate' perfectly portray how the GOP is currently run & lead by scores of Johnny Iselins.

Original article: Obama's Nobel Peace Prize

This article & the comments...

...to this article make me sick.

Yes, Obama is president of a war nation, but at least Obama has taken steps to bring incremental peace. What other individual in American government has done that over the last several years?

And stop framing the Nobel Peace Prize as a reward that should go to a man (or woman) who lifts a hand and "POOF"... peace suddenly engulfs the world.

The Nobel Peace Prize is a reward for those who at least embrace the concept of peace; Obama qualifies on that front.

Prizes are always shallow, as both the giving & receiving of any reward is corny. My point being, an American president just won the Nobel Peace Prize. Stop over thinking it & acting like a bunch of egghead cranks. Just enjoy it.

Don't worry: The traditional media hacks will blast & smear Obama for winning this award.

It's pretty pathetic to come here & read both article & comments that come straight off the Fox News talking points memo.

The only positive I ...

...can glean from this is the Washington Post is no longer a viable source of news & journalism. It's a washed-up, unserious, dated Beltway village pamphlet that does nothing but reconfirm to the Villagers what the Villagers believe is High Wisdom.

The Washington Post is old & worn & has been rendered meaningless via the Internet.

The Washington Post will attempt to remain afloat by veering even more to the right, but I'm afraid its Pet Rock status is already a foregone conclusion.
