Friedman's article, titled "Help Wanted: Peacemaker" doesn't suggest the hyper-radical idea of sending George Bush to The Green Zone. Instead he suggests only a somewhat-radical proposition that Bush send Kissenger, Shultz, Baker, etc there and not allow them to come home until they solve some simple problems - like the August heat, revenue sharing...

Mr Kissenger did such a bang up job in Chile, I can understand why Tom Friedman thinks he'd be good in dealing with another democratically elected government that is not meeting the expectations of the US.

What would Henry Kissenger's help wanted ad say in the Bagdad Post? Help Wanted: Authoritarian Strongman not afraid of cracking a few eggs to make an omelet.

  • Goooooood Luck Tim!

Frankly, Salon is better than Politico and moving there is a probably a big mistake. Unless, of course, Salon craters. Then it is a smart move.

Also, the readers there aren't as intelligent as the readers here (prior responses to your farewell notwithstanding). You can retract your farewell and stay with us and we readers forget the whole sordid affair.

Otherwise, good luck! War Room has been the first URL I visit each day and I've enjoyed your writing.
