Original article: Worthless chatter

TMZ journalism

There's only one thing my conservative friends and I agree on, and that is the mainstream media in this country is an absolute embarrassment. We might as well have TMZ, quite possiby the most depressing celebrity gossip show ever, cover the elections, and the rest of the news, for that matter.

Just when I thought all hope was lost. . .

Thanks, Glenn, for the words of inspiration. Watching the machinations of the administration and their Senate Democratic enablers this week, gloating (prematurely, I hope!) about their upcoming slam-dunk telecom immunity bill, I had, for the first time in my life, a feeling of utter hopelessness. The right-wing/corporate cabal that has been running this country for the last few years was about to get unbelievable powers to intrude on our daily lives and manipulate the system to their advantage (and don't think for a minute that they they wouldn't do it, either!). With this much power in their grasp, there is no way that they are going to let a Democrat win the presidency. It suddenly seemed so obvious to me that, more than likely, Romney, a telegenic, amiable, easily molded empty suit (sound familiar?), would be the next president of the United States, leading the country further down the path of ruin. For the first time in my 48 year life, I felt like some crank conspiracy theorist, and I didn't enjoy it. Your pep talk came at just the right time. Thank you. I will support whoever is fighting this. I hope we can knock the smug looks off the faces of those fat-ass bastards, and put some fear in their hearts.

Here's a scary thought . . .

fro Jay Rockefeller, Feinstein, and the rest of the Senate craven cowards to consider - what if the House resistance leads to a derailment of their "slam-dunk" Spy On America Act? What if they went thru all the trouble of getting screwed in the arse and publically humiliated (again) by Bush and Cheney and their efforts come to nothing? Could you imagine them standing in front of the cameras with an indignant, petulant Bushie Boy (29% approval rating, probably the most hated president in history) pleading for the House to cover their guilty asses? HOW SWEET WOULD THAT BE?

Original article: GOP politics in a nutshell

reply to Bibbles

They really want it.

They really want an attack. They need an attack. That's all they have left, hoping, wishing, praying, even, most likely, that there's a nice, bloody, horrific attack somewhere in which a whole bunch of Americans die. Then won't we be sorry! Then won't we wish we'd listened to them! Then they can tell us all to shut up and fall in line behind them and let them gut the Constitution and Keep Us Safe.

There's a special place in hell for these sleazy, traitorous Republicans in Congress.

The only people who are more gloriously stupid and moronic than the Bush Repubics are their soul partners in this Tango of Terrorism, the Osama bin Ladens of the world. Then again, what's so stupid about that? Bush is the best thing that ever happened to them. Why not stage a Big Attack right before the elections, thereby allowing Bush to declare martial law, cancel the elections, and install himself as Supreme Leader for Life? Osama and al Zaqiuri (or whatever his name is) would be doing cartwheels on YouTube if that were to happen.

"Excuse me?"

Glenn - you should e-mail this post to King and see if you get another righteously pissed-off reponse like the last one he sent - provided he can find enough time to pull himself away from the mirror.

Just in time for the 2008 elections!

If I were Barack Obama, I would throw away my cellphone and start communicating by courier or carrier pigeon.

re: Jim White:What will happen when President Obama has these powers?

See my earlier post. This will insure that there won't be a President Obama. With this much power in their grasp, the conservative junta running the country now will do everything they can to retain that power. If this election is even remotely close (which it probably will be), McCain will "win", just like Bush "won". McCain will be forced by the Right to pick a wingnut VP, who will assume power when McCain becomes "incapacitated". I know, I sound like a conspiracy theorist, but can you blame me, in these times? I hope this 7+ year nightmare isn't the opening act of something worse!

Good news, for a change!

If true, this is the nicest birthday gift I could have gotten today! (49, yikes!) I cancelled my monthly donation to the Democratic Party this weekend, and used that money to contribute to the ActBlue fundraiser. Hopefully it paid off. Thanks, Glenn, for the public service you provide, and keep up the good work. Maybe the country isn't going to hell in a handbasket after all.

Happy Easter, from the Republican Party!!!

This should be required reading for all those Black/Hispanic/Asian Republicans out there (true, there aren't that many, but Clarence Thomas is a Supreme Court justice). This is what they REALLY think of you!

Good luck, Glenn!

Here's hoping your new book gets the attention it so well deserves, although, given the subject matter, I don't think I'll be seeing you interviewed on "Good Morning, America." Too embarrassing for the Elites.

John Yoo's Summer Vacation Schedule

Hmmm. . . definitely not Europe! Who needs Paris when I've got Damascus, City of Light! And then there's Egypt! Poland! Kyrgizistan! Good people over there.

Another great post, Glenn.

Maybe if enough of these Beltway Mandarins start looking in the mirror and doing a little soul-searching, they'll acknowledge their culpability in one of the worst political train wrecks in the history of this country. Hopefully, the release of your new book will educate a wider audience about how The System works, or doesn't. Keep up the good work.
