not a problem
[Read the article: TV Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Back to You and Til Death are re-runs tonight so no need to worry about them.
America's Next Top Model is played again on Sunday.
So all we really have to watch tonight is Pushing Daisies.
But even if you miss that, it's replayable the next day at abc.com.
The whole concept of nights and programming schedules is disappearing rapidly anyway. How long before we don't even discuss them at all?

Rebecca Traister doesn't get it
[Read the article: The witch ain't dead, and Chris Matthews is a ding-dong]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]She says centrist things to get elected, then she governs from the left, duuuuuuh!! Wake up! People like you voted for Nader in 2000 and look what happened to Al Gore! Are you going to question his liberal credentials too?
I thought columnists are supposed to be more savvy than the general population. But instead I suppose you want to elect someone who's only been in the Senate for two years and would come to office just to flounder around in the presidency for two years. You want another Carter? Another Dubya?

that's not the point
[Read the article: And sometimes, people are just wrong]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The point is that journalists are supposed to report the story, not predict it and definitely not tell people what to do. But in effect that's what they've been doing in this election.
Get out of the prophecy business, people and restrict yourself to reporting what has already happened, not what you think will. Can you do that for us please? Thank you.

come on
[Read the article: The 2008 presidential mash-up]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"But how should the Democrats run against Huckabee -- the winner of the Iowa caucuses -- if he were to become the Republican nominee?"
Who cares? It hasn't happened yet and we don't know if it will, so it's not real. Why don't you write about something real?
-
you wrote:
[Read the article: Bill Clinton looks backward]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"As someone who has been covering the Clintons since the 1992 campaign and as a reporter who naively dreamed of never again having to type those three fateful words -- "the Clinton marriage""
Who asked you to inject yourself into the story! Write about the story, not about yourself.
Besides, we're not reporters and what do we care about what you're tired of? Talk about narcissism and caring only about yourself...

it won't work
[Read the article: Why Microsoft's bid for Yahoo is an act of surrender]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The real prize for Microsoft would be the Yahoo employees. But as soon as they get wind of being owned by evil empire Microflaccid they're gonna leave.

There's no momentum at all except for stories like this which make it so
[Read the article: Is Hillary Clinton's campaign in trouble?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]There's no momentum at all except for stories like this which make it so. All of the states in the latter 2/3 of February happen to be Obama-oriented. He has been expecting to win them for a long time. Absolutely nothing has changed, but people like you IN THE MEDIA are making it out to be a big story. Is this irresponsible or what? Hope you can live with yourselves.

You forgot one
[Read the article: The cure for lame TV]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You should have mentioned Scrubs as well. Some of the principals of St. Elsewhere even portrayed their characters on that show.
-
salon.com definitely needs one
[Read the article: Journalism's last line of defense]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]salon.com definitely needs one. In the Obama momentum story today they're making news instead of reporting it. Very irresponsible. (See my further comments under that story.)
-
ummm...
[Read the article: Obama, McCain projected as winners in Maryland ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]There's a substantial black population in all of these states, helllllloooooooooo
-
already been done
[Read the article: What would Michelle Obama do?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]We had that with First Lady Bartlet.
-
Teddy
[Read the article: Does Obama's baritone give him an edge?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So how do you explain Teddy Roosevelt's soprano then?
-
lost
[Read the article: TV Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]B&theG appears to have lost its way. I predict the worst ratings ever (and end of the series except that it's not on a real network).
-
shortsighted
[Read the article: I don't believe in atheists]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]shortsighted and without the ability to articulate. who says "I write in the book that not believing in God is not dangerous. "?
-
how much
[Read the article: Hillary Clinton, sniper fire and Sinbad]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]How much is the Obama campaign paying this site to be this slanted?
-
?
[Read the article: Expel, expelling, expelled!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"far more notorious in pro-intelligent design circles"??? why don't you learn how to write.
-
prosaic and the wolf
[Read the article: TV Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So boring I flipped away after 15 minutes. They think their animations are the star, but they're mistaken: Prokofiev's music is. But we go so long without hearing any of it. And a lot of the animation doesn't look good. When they bend the sheet metal, did you ever see sheet metal bend that way? When the cat shakes itself free of water, did you ever see a cat shake itself that way? Isn't it obvious that if you can't animate something to look believable you shouldn't animate it at all? If this was the best short film of the year it really makes me wonder how awful the rest of the field must have been. If PBS were smart they'd show all 5 and let us decide if the Oscar voters were actually right.
-
really? really??
[Read the article: To cut my breasts off, or not to cut my breasts off ...]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Come on, something's wrong here. You don't just cut off your breasts. What aren't we finding out? Did she always hate her breasts? What size were they? Were they dramatically uneven? Bad reporting.
-
I'm appalled at the damage to the Constitution
[Read the article: Torching the Olympics]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The runners were surrounded by people in light blue. Do you know who they were? That's right, paramilitaries from the PRC. When one of the torchbearers pulled a Tibetan flag out of her sleeve, a paramilitary pulled her off the torch and forced her out of the run.
PRC 1, 1st Amendment 0

no journalistic instincts
[Read the article: Was Katie Couric railroaded?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The phrase "no journalistic instincts" should have appeared in this story somewhere.
Oh well, this is karmic payback to CBS for what they did to Dan Rather.
-
really?
[Read the article: Why Jeremiah Wright is so wrong]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What *is* so great about America actually? From the beginning Americans killed Indians and stole their land and then kidnapped and enslaved Africans to work it. Then a small percentage of them set up a government for and by propertied white males. Then the new country went to war with every one of its rivals: Britain, France (Quasi-War), Spain and Mexico to secure its ill-gotten gains. That's all ancient history you say? How about recent history then. The way evil dictators were set up all around the world post WWII from Cuba to Guatemala to Chile to Iraq to the Philippines. Meanwhile racism continues and now we're ruining the entire world and its economy by what we're doing in Iraq. And what I've mentioned is just the iceberg's tip. Really, pull your head out and up, take *yourself* out of the equation and take a good hard look at America. Are you really, truly proud of what you see?
