I find it curious that those here who are bashing Oprah and the secret and/or the LOA sound so angry, mocking, confused. Those who have experienced the LOA, for the most part, just sound joyful.
More 'bot talk, even down to using the exact same adjectives as all the other LOAsers here. How's the weather down in Guyana?
If we're "angry", it's because there is a groundswell of ignorance which threatens to undo decades of hard work building a better world. Oh, and some of us are angry that you're such arrogant jerks, too.
If we're "mocking", it's because you deserve to be mocked. You're not six-year-old who think they're the first person to think of putting peanut butter on bread, which is cute. You're nominal adults who think they're the first persons in the history of the world to stumble across The Big Answer. That your answer is neither original nor correct leaves you open to mockery, as well as derision, contempt, pity, and any of the other things one normally feels towards a person who chooses to remain a dupe.
If we're "confused", it's because we have trouble understanding how anyone could subscribe to this transparently bogus system and still have enough operative grey matter to use a keyboard. The system itself doesn't confuse us, just like episodes of Teletubbies don't confuse us. They give us a headache and bouts of nausea, but they're not beyond our grasp. They're beneath it.
And as for "joyful", I haven't seen that yet from your lot. I've seen condescention, arrogance, vacuity, illogic, forced blissfulness, superficiciality, and wanton ignorance. Tell me when you get to the joyful part, because it ain't coming through.
That's a sterling list of posters of whom I've taken great pleasure reading in this thread, including your good self.
Far-right (as opposed to traditional) conservatives love guys like this because it's the only time they even get close to embracing someone outside their Ein Volk community. It's the pretense of the Big Tent, a party that welcomes everyone, but in reality it's the Freak Show, with one aberrant example of each on display. They have to play each one up - "Come see the amazing Gay Conservative! Thrill at the Black Female Neocon! Marvel at the only Jewish Anti-Intellectual in captivity!" - because those are the exceptions to their inflexible norm. This guy is a real package deal, being a gay Latino prostitute/Marine, so of course he's rushed to the front of the pavillion for the gawking throng to applaud.
All I can say to him is that I hope his pay-for-play career involved some copraphagia, because that's the one skill he's really going to need.
Apparently the entire GOP has engaged in unsavoury porn its past, because every single one of them seems to have been thoroughly skullfucked.
How many finite particles of sand are there? How many finite oxygen molecules are there for you to breathe? How many stones have you counted to conclude they are 'finite'? How many leaves in trees? How many stars in our galaxy and all the galaxies? How many quarks in this finite universe? What a curious concept.
Thank you for this succinct expression of the blinkered mindstate of a LOAser. Basically you are saying if something is too large or too complex for you personally to deal with, then it belongs to the realm of the supernatural.
Utter hogwash. All of these things are finite, whether you can count them or not. Just like the laws of nature are knowable, whether you can understand them or not. Stop assuming the rest of the world is as unable to cope with reality as you are. Just because something is out your particular reach doesn't means it's fucking magic.
Actual quote from this very forum:
while being the least solipsistic person I know
*speechless*
Must be my off-kilter sense of perception, but that photo is like a Necker Cube drawing. I look at it one way and see three fake tits (two under the shirt and one standing next to them), and then suddenly I see instead three useless dicks (one in the trousers and two with smiles).
Damn, it's as bad as that faces-or-vases picture!
I'm talking about the photo with He-Man and Skeletor together that others have discussed here, not his pan-seared aged beef photo on this article.
I'm surprised more people haven't commented on the usual self-loathing assimilation tactics going on pornboy's modus operandi. This kind of "embrace the fascist" action is a clear example of someone who wants to be seen as white at any cost. It's a way of saying "See, I want to be in your club more than anything! I'll even peel off my true identity so that you can paint me white!"
Same deal with the lackwit Latina who posted under the hilarious title "Liberals = Lack of Intolerance". Great Freudian slip there, because that title is actually true when she clearly meant the reverse. But what can you expect from someone who venerates every action and choice of The Great Miscommunicator?
Both of you need to stop selling your community and yourself down the line and start standing up for what you are. Because even if you get into the conservative white club, you'll never be a member with honours, and they'll still make nasty cracks about you in the executive room.
Same thing to the "he's not gay" protest-to-much contigent here. Look, I know you have a lot of issues maintaining your own self-deception while living on the down-low, but don't bring them here. If you like to suck cock then do it and quick trying to parse it away with "but I touched a woman's boobie once too!"
Conservatism - the idea that you'd be happy if you just weren't you.
