Calling to our better selves, his candid analysis or race in America was as insightful as it was courageous. I truly felt he was representing my hopes and aspirations for this country. Whether the press will capture Obama's inspirational critique remains to be seen. But the New York Times did, in unprecedented fashion, title its article covering his address with positive adjectives . . .

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Even if McCain comes out looking a bit silly on this Mr. Smith Goes to Washington reprise, it is probably balance positive for him: he pretends to be on the ball with the economy while the media ignores that Freddie Mac was paying its respects to McCain's campaign manager in the form of a monthly stipend of $15,000. McCain will be able to wax righteous about his intentions on Friday night, rising above his campaign's hypocrisy that is now swept under the rug. Politically astute and exponentially Machiavellian, I tip my hat in disgusted admiration.
