@terkoy Rightwing nuts & Liberals

This is a dilemma of a lifetime: like Euthanasia.

On one hand 9/11 was done by a ruthless enemy which does not believe in Rule of Law and was NOT a signatory to the Geneva Convention. Technicall speaking torturing these convicted terrorists does not violate the law because they were not signatories themselves, and did not handle Daniel Pearl the Geneva way.

BUT, does that give us the right to violate our own laws? NO.

Bush had the most complaint congress after 9/11: he could have got passed a law authorising enhanched interrogation of terrorists. But he didn't.

So technically he violated the then law of the land.

Cheney may claim that the result of breaking the law was to make America safe.

May be, May be not. We will never know.

But the fact that Cheney violated the law that he swore to uphold is enough to charge him.

So, why doesn't Obama go ahead and ask the AG to file charges? Let the SCOTUS worry about convictions or freedom.

STOP Comparing Bush Administration to Nazis @IzzieDee

Please stop comparing Nazis Nuremberg trials to Bush/Cheney waterboarding.

1) The Nazis "wantonly murdered" millions of Jews & Poles just because of their religion and ethnicity. I say wantonly, because of the callous, carefully planned nature of their Ovens, shower rooms, X-ray scans, etc. that robbed millions upon millions of people and their children their very lives for NO crime. The only mistake the 3 year old did was to be born a Jew. Was it his crime? Was it a crime at all?

2) The Nazis deliberately tortured their own Generals and others in violation of many, many laws. Not just for information, but because they were enemies. Why? Mostly for information, mostly as Punishment and sometimes for fun.

3) Nazis violated their own ruthless laws by torturing and killing millions. Laws enacted by the Third Reich.

The Bush Administration did NOT kill millions because of their religion in a deliberate, systematic, cold-blooded way because of their religion and ethnic outlook.

The Bush Administration did not hang Iraqi Generals on meathooks, or kill them for sport.

Yes i agree the Bush Administration broke existing laws. There can be no excuse for that. But please, please everyone stop comparing Bush/Cheney to the Nazis.

You have no idea how decadently cruel Nazis were. In Nuremberg the Nazis were NOT defended by their Lawyers because these lawyers knew the extend and depravity of their crimes.

@dust1969

Perhaps i have should have been more clearer.

The Courts appointed defendant lawyers to the defendants. if you are referring to Otto Stahmer, he was appointed by the Court to defend.

Probably you are under a delusion having watched the movie the Nuremberg Trials and thinking a lawyer came out of the woodwork to defend nazis.

Nope.

Once again i state that comparing Nazis (who threw children alive into the furnaces of Auschwitz because they ran out of Gas) with Bush/Cheney is grossly overstating the problem the belittling the cruelty of Nazis.

Nazis did not waterboard a suspect: they pulled out finger nails one by one on your fingers and toes, or pulled you up a meathook, alive and without anasthesia.

The cruelty they did was incomparable: beyond human imagination and beyond human comprehension.

Have you ever watched the old Soviet films about Hitler's Torturers in Russia? That's just 10% of the reality.

The extermination and annihilation of anentire race was what Hitler had in mind. Not just senseless killing. Annihilation.

You are probably too young or too coccooned in your protective shell playing Medal of Honor and watching the opening scenes from Call of Duty to think that Japs and Nazis tortured victims by hitting them across face. Silly boy...

The word Nazi cruelty is banded about easily nowadays to Bush/Cheney without knowing in reality what it means and implies.

Your very soul would go cold and the you rediscover the meaning of fear if you were a Jew in Auschwitz and facing an SS man in front of you. Just the sneering look was enough to freeze you.

STOP COMPARING BUSH/CHENEY WITH NAZIS!

Nazis were waaaay worse than you can imagine, than you can possibly know and see.

Dumb kids nowadays think drinking kool-aid and eating McDonalds burgers and watching Private Ryan and Patton is what WW2 was about...

@The Comedian

Please liberals, leave national security in the hands of conservatives and we'll let you whine, complain and gnash your teeth as you always have done throughout history. Meanwhile, rest easy knowing that that people with stronger wills than you are protecting your sorry asses.

...you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country. ~ Hermann Goering

Sounds familiar?

@The Comedian

Probably you misunderstood me.

What i meant was that Nazis were far, far more evil than Bush/Cheney.

Comparing them with Bush/Cheney is belittling what the Nazis said. I had mentioned that specifically in many posts before i used this sentence.

But then, like Limbaugh and O'reilly you used a part of my full rant to turn me against me.

Wow! I must learn to appreciate Republicans more than i do.

Appreciate them for their willingness to learn the Leadership Principle at the feet of Goering.
