Long awaited plan that could have stopped 9/11

If FBI had started to profile muslims after Cole incident they might have stopped 9/11 altogether.

Instead the liberal weenies and old age laws prevented them from doing that as a result of which more than 3000 innocents died.

When US profiled Japs-Americans in WW2 no one complained. Yes, they were preventive arrests, but necessary. This prevented any Jap act of sabotage in US.

Privacy is fine, but today's terrorists use privacy as a weapon.

They MUST be stopped and if the result is some of our intimate telephone conversations being heard, so be it.

The congress and Senate did the right thing in FISA bill.

Damn these liberals. Send them to Pakistan by the ship load or to Russia where they can espouse their Liberal causes when living under terror.

Jesse Helms was America's Hyde personality

Jesse Helms may have been a racist bigot, etc., but he was American's Hyde personality.

He personified all that Americans internally thought of the world. The deep dark secrets that define the South and North.

His repeated electoral success showed america never changed and all other outwordly trappings of magnanimity, equality, etc., was just a sham.

Internally the racist feelings, the avoidance of hiring blacks are still there. Helms just told it out loud.

His TV advertisement in 1990 showing two white hands crumpling up a letter while the announcer intones: “You needed that job, and you were the best qualified. But they had to give it to a minority.” still holds true.

Lets face it: We secretly love Helms. And we will continue to do so, because he represents the Hyde in our otherwise perfect personality: Deep, Dark, Delicious.

Original article: Torture and the rule of law

Those who are against Bush today re-elected him in 2004

I can't imagine the hypocrisy of those who want Bush impeached.

In 2001 till 2003 you guys supported him when he took whatever measures needed to make US safe. That included manhandling suspects, racial profiling, etc.

And now you feel safe AFTER the policies were effective, you attack him and want him impeached for what? Forcible extraction of information from terrorists? Oh, Come on you hypocrites. Once the ugly job is done you want it neat, proper and prim like an Englishman's Hat.

Why don't you preach your laws-against-torture to the terrorists? Why don't you "sue" Osama in courts? Why?

You want safety but you don't want to have blood on your hands???

Ohhhh... The price of safety is high my friends. You agreed to pay the price in 2004 by re-electing him. And remember, you can preach all you want to Bush: But as he rightly says, the terrorists don't listen.

Stop gunning for Him. He did what was necessary (by all means) to keep America Safe and in 7 years since 2001 there has NOT BEEN a single act of terror against Americans anywhere in the world.

If the price you pay for it is increased surveillance of your dumb phone calls then pay it.

You are naive..

You are naive and green to the gills [flourescent green] if you think US oil majors should engage in a competing bid.

EU and Chinese governments didn't waste 4000 lives in Iraq. Nor did they spend a dollar on stabilising Iraq.

Their soldiers didn't spend the hot days and humid nights thousands of miles away from wives, husbands and children so that some cheap-a$$ oil company from EU and China undercut US oil companies based on price to snatch it right away from under their noses.

Why do EU and China shout themselves hoarse about no-bid contracts today? They were nowehere to be seen when US attacked Iraq, and refused to help US to overthrow Saddam.

Now when the dirty job is done [as usual by expending US lives], they want the fruits of the labor by cribbing about international law and crap.

To EU & Other silent-parties: Go to hell.

You never helped US in anything, and you can damn well go and beg Russia for more oil. Or better yet ask Chavez: He is your extreme friend.

@AnnieW

Dear Annie,

Am NOT stating that enriching [by millions] an Exxon CEO is worth 4000 soldiers. Nor do i justify Exxon and other oil companies getting rich on blood money.

What am saying is how EU and Chinese companies now want a "fair" deal (meaning undercutting on price, and seeing china's record in Sudan...) now that US has spent its blood to kick out saddam.

What am questioning is the hypocrisy of EU companies who want a piece of the blood money without having paid anything...

Obama should not win

Obama is a hypocrite: He sweet-talks a lot, but when it comes to action he does exactly like the Republican Party wants him to do.

Obama is worse than Hillary in this case. Hillary had a history so we knew her strengths, stance on many issues, weaknesses, etc.

Obama's main strength is lots of hot air, and his stance on many issues is neither consistent nor known.

He is exactly the anti-christ that we all fear. He sweet talks, charms his way in, and then once elected president, will do worse than Bush. Yes, some may claim there can be no president worse than Bush; but i fear Obama will make Bush proud.

His change on FISA, his refusal to support impeachment, his no-comment on Valerie Palme outing, his no-comment on Torture Video, consistent refusal to critize anything important of Bush, refusal to investigate the Fed, refusal to stop ANWR drilling, etc., all point to a Trojan Horse. He is THE Candidate of Republicans, and electing him would be the biggest mistake US can do.

Please, please do not vote for Obama. Throw your vote away, refuse to vote or vote for McCain, but avoid voting for Obama: that is a mistake from which we can never recover.
