What a sick society we live in
[Read the article: Are we sexist in our schadenfreude?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]How about this....let's not get our jollies off watching anyone go down. When are we going to just mind our own P's & Q's and stop worrying so much about the success of others? Male or female.

Hillary does have a plan B in place
[Read the article: Obama's got ground game]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Her campaign has already stated that it will sue the TDP if TX doesn't go their way.....really can you see them suing if they manage to "win" TX?
-
This might have been addressed already, but the Clinton camp seems to be pimping
[Read the article: The "Rezko" game]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]the "rezko" storyas hard as any GOP or MSM operation.
-
Billionbees...
[Read the article: The great homeowner equity depression]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]until the last graf, I thought you had written a perfect account of San Antonio....I guess for that matter it could be any sunbelt city. We are in for a helluva ride!
-
an idea, Joe...
[Read the article: Some free advice for Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You most eloquently defended the Clintons during the sturm und drang of their 90's era pseudo-scandals....how about putting those talents to work debunking this non-story slime being slung at Obama? Or are you busy being one of the chief slime-slingers?

Double-edge sword
[Read the article: Will American war crimes be revealed?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Coming out & talking about "war crimes" can be a slippery slope. It is very convenient when we sit on our fat asses monday-morning quarterbacking the actions of kids who are caught in the seventh circle of hell. We are putting young men & women into impossible situations that any of us who have never served cannot even begin to fathom. These are 18, 19, 20 year olds, many of them just out of adolescence, sweet-talked by unscrupulous recruiters and thrown into the fight of their lives, physically and mentally. And some of them cannot take it. They snap. The "lizard-brain" takes over in the fight-or-flight response gone horribly awry. So be very careful about who the finger is pointed at when the subject of "war crimes" is brought up; it could have easily been you or a loved one.

As much damage as the US has wrought
[Read the article: "The Beijing Olympics debacle has begun"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It pales in comparison to the utter disaster that is modern-day China. At least here we have open debate about our responsibilities and contributions, good and ill to the globe ca. 2008. Modern-day China is indeed everything that is wrong about humankind, on steroids. Pollution, dwindling resources, human rights violations, absence of corporate responsibility, bellicosity....the list goes on ad nauseum. I for one hope that the 2008 games goes down as bar none the biggest failure imaginable and shines the harshest light imaginable on the disgrace that is China.

They still don't hold elections and they haven't considered
[Read the article: How did China learn how to spin Tibet?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]the dire consequences of their wasteful polluting ways. The US will eventually sign Kyoto or son of Kyoto....China will continue to treat the earth as its septic system. The next time you hear 'China going green' will be the first.

One of Hillary's wiseguy advisors
[Read the article: "It is possible ... that she misspoke"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]needs to inform her that this is what they call "sowing the wind, reaping the whirlwind." Her campaign started this BS tit-for-tat game months ago when it became obvious she was going nowhere, trying to damage Obama through the thousand cuts strategy. The biggest problem with that is that the would-be misspeaker-in-chief has too many damn skeletons in the attic to play that game.

Waxed? I don't think so
[Read the article: Welcome to the "menaissance"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]viva le back hair!

Yeah, this is not the time to buy a new car
[Read the article: Record gas prices equal record Prius sales]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]unless you happen to need transportation other than the bus.
I was sick of my gas-guzzling Chevy hooptie's repair bills, I had to take the plunge. Didn't want to roll the dice on used & was short the funds for a shiny hybrid with its shiny pricetag. Split the difference & went Toyota Yaris. Low price, hi MPG.

What goes up can come down, no?
[Read the article: No more plastic bags, no more jobs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]How about blowing up the billion-bag factory & restoring the land to agricultural use? Oops we're sorry for the immense blight we inflicted on you folks, here lets grow some crops instead. We're talking about a country that can move mountains if it wants to bad enough.

Go cold turkey
[Read the article: I'm 21 and addicted to pot -- but I'm doing just great!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Seriously, don't go buy another bag. Throw away the pipes, bongs, lighters and other tools. Leave it behind you as a stage of your life, never to return. This is not something where you can occasionally 'have a toke' or occasinally burn one. You do that, and it will all start back up again. Like others have said, take up exercise, cycling, running, meditation, anything that is good for mind and body. The bud is good for neither...it will sap your will, ambition, and your health. Step up today and quit.

What about all the sticky tar going down into your lungs
[Read the article: I'm 21 and addicted to pot -- but I'm doing just great!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I have nothing against potsmokers. I was one....I have smoked many sweet varieties throughout the years. Just think about this, though: you know that nasty sticky filthy tar you're cleaning out of your pipe every week? It's going into your lungs, too. I reckon that's not a pretty sight after a few decades.

Lemme see...
[Read the article: "Richardson has never questioned Senator Obama's electability"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]On one hand we have a statesman that has served in many varied roles including, but not limited to, a Governor, diplomat, cabinet secretary, U.S. Rep. He has never had his honor and integrity challenged until this recent slimebath he was subjected to.
On the other hand, we have a, a.......1.5 term Senator who is, shall we say, has been exposed as a factually-challenged individual. A routine liar, even.
Who are we going to believe?
Yep, that's what I thought too.
-
I guess this country just has no collective memory
[Read the article: "The next time we have Black Monday"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Wars, high finance...pick your topic, doesn't matter. We keep making the same f#king mistakes over & again.
ARRRGGHHHH!
-
does this mean I can finally pull the trigger on that Hummer pickemup?
[Read the article: North Dakota -- the next Saudi Arabia]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]eom

Without putting too fine a point on the matter
[Read the article: Hey, Obama boys: Back off already!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I say bullshit!
A few anecdotes does not a trend or scientific sampling make.
-
Yes the GOP will slime-hose Obama down in the general election
[Read the article: Hannity's unfortunate role in the Democratic debate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]but the Ayers question is a total cheap-shot. It's like asking him "when did you stop beating your wife?"
-
Frightened men on this thread?
[Read the article: Beyond Vagina-dome]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]HA! I too celebrate the vagina! The headlined sucked me right in, I didn't have a chance.
-
Yes this is painful
[Read the article: Housing market refuses to stabilize]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]But this is just what the Dr. ordered. The real estate market in many areas of the country badly needed this enema.

These companies operating huge jet fleets are a dinosaur
[Read the article: FedEx bets on the California sunshine]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Just look at Delta's recent quarterly results. Huge losses. And that is with its sales rising 12%.
When it comes to documents, electronic transmission is what will be taking over. Forget dropping them in the FedEx box. Need signatures? Just drag the stylus right across the screen.
When it comes to merchandise, we might be heading back to more 'brick & mortar' shopping as opposed to paying the ever-escalating shipping costs that these dinosaurs will need to charge just to keep up with fuel.
Things will be changing soon.
