Scotus blog not objective

I don't find that scotus blog to be very objective in it's reporting. They claimed that the far left was unserious when it opposed Roberts and Alito, because they claimed Roberts and Alito would be pro-corporations and pro-state power. Well if you've checked their records, that's exactly how Roberts and Alito voted. There hasn't been a case before the court where they sided against a corporation or against the government. So I'm not interested in their opinions on Sotomayor. The fact she's voted with the conservatives 95% of the time, shows I was right yesterday. Obama has played us once again. He's nominated a stealth conservative to the bench. Look at her background: corporate litigator, former prosecutor. Do you think she's going to vote to reign in corporate or gov't abuses? I seriously doubt it. I have to laugh at the AP articles saying she's clearly on the left. Since our country has swung so far to the right, anyone in the middle is now considered a leftie. The righties will make a token display of outrage, but they are certainly pleased by this pick. It's all a kabuki dance, designed to fool the public into thinking there's some sort of debate over this. There isn't any. The corporate party wins again.

Infotainment

Doubledave is so right, the MSM loves drama. It's all apart of the infotainment that now passes for "news". That's why everything is he said/ she said. Why the news never does fact checking, because that would be bias. Showing one side is lying while the other side is telling the truth. It would ruin the drama. Robert Kennedy Jr. said "We are the best entertained and least informed people on the planet." Which is exactly why our country is in such rapid decline. Without an informed electorate, democracy dies. Which is happening right before our eyes folks.

Where this ends.

First kids start hugging eachother. Then they start to care about other people then themselves. Before you know it, America has gone commie. That's where this ends folks. Stop it now before it's too late.

@Susan

Obama isn't going to get re-elected, sorry to burst your bubble. The economy is still going to be in the crapper, due to Obama's refusal to do what's necessary with these Banks. Obama is going to get the blame, and rightly so. Even if he gets re-elected, Obama isn't going to prosecute any of these war criminals. He's already stated as much. Stop looking at Obama through rose colored glasses, and get your some prescription lenses. Obama is complete and total fraud.

But we don't torture.

It's kind of funny to read MSM coverage and their refusal to use the word torture. But last week a poll was done, which the majority of Americans say torture is sometimes justified. So where are Americans getting torture is justified, if according to our MSM we don't torture? We only do "harsh, intense, enhanced etc" interrogations. I'd really like to know. Maybe the American people are smarter then our corporate media conglomerates like to pretend. We know exactly what they mean wit their euphenisms, it means torture. Too bad the majority of Americans have been fooled into thinking torture works. You can thank our MSM for that, because they allow Cheney to lie about it's effectiveness. Never correcting the record on Cheney's statements. That would be "liberal bias". You can also thank Obama because he allowed Cheney to frame the debate. Instead of torture being illegal and wrong ALWAYS, debate is if it works. Even when the debate is framed that way, the evidence shows it is ineffective. Yet Obama never says that out loud. Obama is losing the debate, because he's not even trying. He's too busy protecting Bush & Co from prosecutions. If he would get out of the way and allow Eric Holder to prosecute, it would show America is truly a country that doesn't torture. Because we prosecute those that did it. Until the prosecutions start, which might be never, America has no moral standing in the world.

@Glock45 If your stupid enough to enlist

I could care less about the life of your son. If you are stupid enough to enlist in the military to fight for the American empire, then you deserve what you get. People who join the military aren't defending the country, they are fighting to defend the empire to enrich the corporations. So some rich billionaire can add another billion to his portfolio by exploiting the poorest nations on earth. Until we close all of our military bases around the globe and pull our troops home. Until our armed forces are only used to protect America, not impose our will upon the rest of the planet. Don't fool yourself into think your son is protecting the country. He isn't doing anything noble, just another piece of cannon fodder.

What's truly scary

What's truly scary about the case of Boumediene, is 4 Supreme Court justices voted he shouldn't be able to challenge his detention. These "originalists" must of missed the part about Habeas Corpus. One more right-winger or right of center justice, and it's over folks. Whatever rights granted us by the Constitution will exist only on paper not in practice. Considering Sotomayor votes with the conservatives 95% of the time I'm not hopeful.
