No accountability

Well it seems that even if Obama is elected prez, the Bushies will skate on the crimes they committed. Since key dems were complicit with what Bush & co were doing, they will never want to hold hearings into Bush's crimes. It would expose their participation in them. Obama isn't going to want hearings or prosecutions either, because it would distract from getting his legislation agenda passed. If Obama gets into office, we are going to hear of the need to move forward. No time to look back. What's done is done, let's move on. Our only hope is that the international court in the Hague indicts Bush, Cheney and the rest for what they did. Of course, Obama would never turn them over for prosecution. That would be political suicide. But atleast they won't be able to leave the country. Not much of a punishment but atleast it's something.

Experts, what do they know?

Jonathan Turley, a constitutional law expert, says the FISA bill eviscerates the constitution. I'm sure he doesn't know anything that he's talking about. After all, he's only an expert. I think I better trust shooter instead. (snark)

Anyone know?

Does anyone know how many of judges on the 4th circuit, were approved by democratic controlled senates? I'd like to know who these freaking fascists are, that were given lifetime appointments by stupid democrats. The one thing the dems in the senate should do, is refuse to approve any new federal judges. No more Bush judges should be approved. We can't afford any more freaking fascists in our court system with lifetime appointments. That someone would think it's ok for the president to declare someone guilty, and lock them up indefinetly with no review, is beyond belief. If Obama is elected president, the dems need to remove every one of these fascists judges that Bush was able to appoint. Start with Roberts and Alito and then go from there. Bush's poison into our system of government needs to be removed as quickly as possible.

@tempus

Well tempus I see your point about how unarmed people are powerless to those with guns. But when you consider the arsenal of the US army, with mini-guns that can fire 3000 rounds a minutes, abram tanks, 5000 lb bombs etc There's no way average American people with hunting rifles and shotguns, have a chance of fighting back against that. Also the majority of Americans lack the guts to stand up to authority anyway. In the unlikely event that Bush declares martial law, Americans will sit back like good little sheep and take it. Our only hope is that american soldiers would refuse orders to fire on Americans, if any had the guts to stand up that is. I'd give 50/50 odds on soldiers refusing those orders.

I'm tired

Well I don't want to know anymore. Yes we know they broke the law. So they started torturing before they said they were. It doesn't change a thing because nothing is going to happen anyway. Everyone involved will get away scott free. The dems in congress aren't going to do anything about it. Even if Obama is elected president, he's not going to want to prosecute the Bushies. It would distract from his legislative goals. He'd be attacked for engaging in "political prosecutions". So at this point I'm just tired about knowing about it. I'm tired of being angry that these criminals will get away with their crimes. I'm tired of being angry, that most Americans could give a rats ass about what's been done in their names.

Colorado largest beer producer

I live in Colorado which is largest beer producing state in the nation. We have both Coors and Budweiser plants here. Colorado is 3rd in the production of craft beers, home to large micro-brewers such as New Belgium maker of Fat Tire. While I don't think Budweiser is a great beer, I don't think it's total crap either. It's major selling point is that it's pretty cheap. While I love the taste of craft beers, my budget can't afford them right now. So if the choice is between an 8 dollar six pack of Fat Tire, or a 10 dollar 12 pack of Bud. I'm going to pick the bud.

PBR and Miller union made

One of the reasons I like buying PBR and occasionally Miller, is that they are union made. They print it clearly on the label. Budweiser to my knowledge isn't union made. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that. So Elephantman, stick that up your pipe and smoke it.

Odell's brewery

For those of you that love New Belgium's Fat Tire, there's another great brewer in Fort Collins called Odell's Brewery. If you've ever taken the tours of both New Belgium and Odell's, you'll agree Odell's is far superior. Odell's actually let's you purchase a pint of beer and take it on the tour with you. New Belgium only gives out samples. Also New Belgium is really full of themselves. They are really pretentious in my opinion. Odell's makes some great beers, my favorite is "5 Barrel Pale Ale". Fat Tire is so over rated. If you ever get a chance to purchase some Odell Brewery beer, do it.

Does it change anything?

Regarding Carol Kreck, the librarian that was arrested for holding up the sign at the McCain event. The righties like to point out that she was a member of a progressive action group. So I guess that's supposed to discredit her in some way. It's not like she was just an average person they say, she was a member of a group. Oh no, not a member of a group. Is there anything worse then that? So much for freedom of association, as well as free speech. So I got to ask, does it change anything? It's still an assault on free speech. She was on public property and had the right to hold a sign.
