balance

Reading an ap story on Bush's veto of the s-chip program. It said that critics of the program say it would give healthcare to illegal aliens. Yes critics did say that, they were lying. You had to prove you're an american citizen to get into the program. But this shows how journalists always have to have "balance" in their articles. I wonder if a journalist wrote a story on how the world was round, would he also add that some say the world is flat? Have journalists lost the notion that their is such a thing as truth and facts? Just because someone says 2+2=5, doesn't make it so. Yet when it comes to political reporting, they do the equivalent of that all the time. Dem says 2+2=4, but repugs say 2+2=5. Who's right? We can't tell you because that would be "liberal-bias", you figure it out for yourself. It always amazes me that the only way the republicans can win, is by lying. They can't ever win by arguing the merits of their position. They always have to rely on their right-wing lie machine to fool people. If someone has to lie to you to win you over, do you think they have your best interets at heart?

Plame on 60 minutes

I know this is off topic but anyone catch Valerie Plame on 60 Minutes tonight? The segment was actually pretty good except for a few questions by Couric. She presented what happened factually. What bothered me was some of Couric's questions. She basically engaged in blaming the victim for what happened. Saying don't you think that it was a possibility that your cover might be blown, by your husband speaking out. So it was Joe Wilson's fault for what happened, not the people who did it? She accused the Wilson's of coming off as very partisan. Couric seemed surprised that Joe was still angry about what happened. She said with surprise "You are still seething over this." Gee someone ruining your wife's career, placing her life in jeopardy. Why would you be upset over something like that? Couric is just another example of what's wrong with the "msm".

Hillary is a snake

It's interesting that Hillary is the only senator running for prez, that won't commit to opposing immunity for telcos. Her statement is typical of her, non-commital. She gave the same response on Olbermann a few weeks ago. She was asked this very question and gave a non-answer. A lot of words but said nothing at all. This is why I will never support that snake Hillary. She has no principles, it's all triangulation on her part.

Last Bush

The only thing to be thankful for with W. as prez, is he the last Bush to ever hold the office of prez. W. has so destroyed the Bush brand, that no one from his family will ever be able to get elected dog catcher, yet alone higher office. I think we can be thankful for that.

too much religion

I for one am sick of all this blatant use of religion for political purposes. The bible says render unto ceasar what is ceasar's, and render unto God what is God'ss. Religion and state are to be kept SEPERATE. The last thing we need is another anti-science theocrat in the White House. How many people have died from diseases, that would of been cured by stem-cell research? How many cases of std's have been spread, because public schools have to teach abstinence-only sex ed? It received very little notice, but the CDC said that std's are at their highest levels in decades. A whole generation of school children not being taught condom usage, and now we have record std rates. Does anyone think that there might be a connection? This is the result of ignorance caused by Bush inserting his religious beliefs into public policy. So now every disgusting GOPer running for prez, is trying to one up each other on who's the biggest Christian. I am sick and tired of having a prez force his religious beliefs on the country. 7 years and counting of theocrat Bush, have done enough damage to this country. We don't need another 4 years of it.

9/11 commission

Has anyone seen the documentary "9/11 Press for Truth"? It's a great documentary about the battles the 9/11 families had to go through, just to get a public investigation into 9/11. The Bush admin opposed it vigorously, until they saw they couldn't stop it. Cheney called Tom Daschle after 9/11 happened and asked that it not be investigated. The first chairman for the commission chosen by Bush was Henry Kissinger. That's the guy you pick when you want to get to the truth of something. LOL After the 9/11 families exposed Kissinger's conflicts of interests, he resigned as chairman. Then we had the spectacle of Bush and Cheney "talking" to the commission. They refused to be intereviewed under oath, or individually. Plus no recordings could be made of their questioning. So now we learn that the CIA obstructed their investigation. Color me surprised. I'm not one that believes in the 9/11 conspiracy theories. It's been documented that the Bush admin had dozens of warnings prior to 9/11, that it was coming. I think they failed to take the threat seriously and after it happened, went into cover your ass mode. Trying to hide what they knew and when they knew it.

Forget your meds?

Hey Brightstar, did you forget to take your meds today? Please spare us the 9/11 conspiracy theory bullshit. There were no explosives in the WTC's. There was no gov't involvement in 9/11 period. The CIA wasn't behind it, or what ever secret organization you paranoidly obsess about. Accept reality and start taking your meds again. It will spare the rest of us from reading your paranoidal lunatic rantings.
