new rule

The dems need to copy a rule that the repugs follow devoutly. Thou shall not criticize a fellow democrat in public. Also how about stop playing nice. John Kerry wanted to run a clean campaign and see where that got him. When your opponent is in the sewer throwing muck all over you, you can't act as if it isn't happening. Get down there in the sewer and fight back. John Kerry lost the election because he allowed the lying swift boaters to defame him. By refusing to denounce them as the lying scum they were, he allowed their charges to stick. IF he had came out called them a bunch of lying sacks of crap. Demanded they put up proof of their charges, put up or shut up, he'd be president today.

The only way the dems are ever going get passed this weak effeminate narrative the msm continually paints them with, is to take off the gloves. Start fighting back. Someone calls you a pussy, you fucking punch him in face (metaphoricaly speaking). Start denouncing the "msm" talking heads for the hacks they are. Call them out. Refuse to take this crap anymore. That's what the dems need to do. Until they do that, the msm is continue to paint them as weaklings.

always out of context

Limbaugh and O'Reilly always claim to be taken out of context when they catch flack for something outrageous they have said. Media Matters posted the entire audiotape of both Limbaugh and O'Reilly's latest foot in mouth incidents. It's clear they were not taken out of context. So shooter once again you prove yourself to be liar.

As for the moveon ad. Imagine if the headline had ran Gen. Petreaus or Gen. Disingenous? The right-wing would of had meltdown no matter what. No matter how the ad would of been worded, the reaction would of been the same. So this dems be careful of how you word things, so not to give ammunition, IS CRAP. That's playing by the republican rules, and that's a no win game. Because the republican rules are made to ensure that the republicans win. It's time the dems make their own dam rules.

name calling is not arguing

Can someone please tell right-wingers that name calling is not the same as arguing? I have to laugh everytime I hear a right-winger say they argue with logic, while libs argue with emotions. Can someone please teach right-wingers the rules to logic? Because right-wingers "arguments" are nothing but calls to emotion and ad hominem attacks. They think if they just label someone a lib or tree-hugger, unamerican, america-hater etc then they have won the argument. It's what people like Ann Coulter and Michelle Malking do all the time.

@aka Smith

I believe Glenn was being sarcastic in his post. He seemed to be mocking Congress's resolution condemning Moveon. That's the way I took it.

Definetly looks like a nazi

Thanks to the poster of the story about Debra Cagen. That picture of her definetly looks like nazi dominatrix. As other previous posters have pointed out, the right-wingers are attempting to redefine words. By misusing them they are striping them of their meaning, rendering them meaningless. I don't think it's a coincidence that they are doing this more often today, then in the past. Naomi Wolf has a new book out about the ten steps taken to transform an open society into a closed one. It's called "End of democracy, letter to a young American". Do a google search for Naomi Wolf and on the first page is a link to an article in the Gaurdian called Ten Easy Steps. It will give you an outline of what the book is about. As more evidence emerges that the Bush admin has been following these time-tested steps, the right needs to try to redefine the words.

@retiredmilitarypatriot

Your post described Billo to a tea. I happened to catch him last week attacking the ACLU. He said the ACLU is an extremist organization that opposes all gov't eavesdropping. They are on the side of the terrorists. Of course the ACLU doesn't oppose all gov't eavesdropping, just that done without warrants. They want the law and constitution followed, obviously unamerican extremists in Billo's mind. While I'm sure Billo knows what he says is a lie, he says it anyways because he knows his audience probably believes it.

End of America

I just finished reading "End of America: Letters to a young Patriot" by Naomi Wolf. If you haven't read it by now, I recommend you do so. She's part of the American freedom campaign that all dem candidates have signed the freedom pledge, except Hillary. In the book she describes the historical steps taken to close down on open society, and parallels them with the steps taken by the Bush administration. It's pretty frightening. She says that fascism doesn't come all at once but reaches a tipping point, a fascist-shift. She argues there is still time to stop this but I wonder if it already hasn't happened. I can't for the life of me figure why the dems continue to cave in to the Bush admin on everything. If Bush didn't think he could get the former repug congress to give immunity to the telco's, why is he so certain that the dem congress will do it? The dems can't be afraid of being called soft on terror, or just plotting for the next election. I think they are being blackmailed. So the dems are doing "oversight" but where's the accountabliity? Name one prominent person in the admin. that's been sent to jail for breaking the law. Gonzo lied to congress, but was never charged with anything. Rove and Miers ignored congressional subpeona's, and nothing happened to them. Remember all the talk of holding them in contempt, what happened to that? It's an illusion in my opinion. Make it look like the system is still working, when it isn't.

@anon

Yeah you're right, Limbaugh is the victim here. Also WMD's were in Iraq, Saddam was responsible for 9/11, oh and the tooth fairy is real too.
