The anonymous coward that slandered Scott Ritter, made the claim that Ritter was court-ordered to attend sex offender therapy in Albany, NY. Without doing any research what so ever, I can prove this is a lie. All one needs to know is one simple uncontested fact, Ritter was never convicted of a crime and the charges were dismissed. So there is no way a court can order him to do anything. You have to be convicted or plead guilty to a crime, before a court can order therapy. So anonymous unless you can back up your claims with proof, a link to a real news article, your nothing but a stinking liar.

Has anyone seen the new picture of "Osama Bin Laden"? The guy with the black beard? If that guy is Osama, I'm the pope. That guy looks nothing like previous pictures we've been shown of him. The eyes and mouth are completely different. I don't believe for a second that it's the real Osama. Plus how convenient he's putting out a new video tape, just in time for the anniversary of 9/11. On another topic, can someone explain how another terrorist attack will help the republicans? Do the repugs think we'll all develop amnesia and just forget that 2 terrorist attacks happened on their watch? That we'll buy the phony BS that they are the only ones that can protect us. Barksdale Air Force Base is being used as a jumping off point for Middle East operations. Gee, why would we want cruise missile nukes at Barksdale Air Force Base. Can’t imagine we would need to use them in Iraq. Why would we want to preposition nuclear weapons at a base conducting Middle East operations?

His final point was to observe that someone on the inside obviously leaked the info that the planes were carrying nukes. A B-52 landing at Barksdale is a non-event. A B-52 landing with nukes. That is something else.

If you are going to copy someone's work, you need to give credit where credit is due.

In my paper today there was an article about Patreaus and his recommendations for troop withdrawal. He said we need to wait another 6 months before we can think about that. So for the past 6 months, we were told just wait for September. Now we are being told to wait til March. Give me a break.

The only reason I can think of why the dems will allow this retroactive immunity for the phone companies pass is money. Campaign contributions and lobbyist pressure will get the phone companies the immunity they want. If those lawsuits were successful they could lose billions in judgements against them. It's all about the money.

objection to Congress's treatment of Gen. Petraeus was that they were treating him like a political operative rather than as a military officer. Gen. Abizaid is not commanding troops in combat; he is a retired officer inserting himself into political discourse.

First of all, Gen Petraeus was engaging in a politcal act. That's why the White House wrote his report for him. Since the white house knows they have no credibility left with the country, they've got this general to do it for them. Try to sell the american people on the lie that the surge is working. Every independent group that has analyzed the situation in Iraq, has come to the same conclusion. The level of violence has not dropped. Petraeus and his staff cherry picked the data to try to make it look like the surge was working. Fortunately the country didn't buy it. Second, Gen Abizaid has as much right to put his input into the political debate as anyone else. No he doens't deserve to be the subject of character assassination by lies and innuendo because he dares to open his mouth.

The dems have the power to end the war but refuse to use it. Harry Reid could end the gentleman's agreement on the filibuster and make the obstructionist repugs do it old school. Actually get up and talk continously, instead of this just raising a hand and say filibuster. Why won't he? If he was serious about ending this war and getting our troops home, he'd do it. He hasn't and he won't.

Thank you to the poster of the Naomi Klein clip on Colbert Report. I used to find Daily Show, Colbert, Bill Maher extremely funny. I still do but also realize that it isn't funny, it's actually quite depressing. Losing our rights is not funny. Yet by making jokes of it, I think they do more harm then good. People don't take it seriously because they make jokes of it. It's all so hilarious, so don't worry about it. It can't happen here. America land of the free forever and ever.
