Don't worry the Invocation will be short and sweet , we have four long years to go

It will be short and sweet. No worries about this. I am worried about Summers and Duncan.

Duncan has zippo Education back ground but somehow got appointed to the Chicago Public Schools which by the way the Obama's DO Not send their children to, they go the the Chicago Laboratory or some such name for about 20,000 a year a piece I am sure they get some kind of two for one deal. I would like to see the receipt for that. Wonder what the ranking for Chicago Public Schools were for the past year.

I guess being able to shoot hoops with the Pres elect is now a resume enhancing .

I think the Asian woman who runs the D.C. schools would have been a much better choice, oh she isn't 6'5", oh yeah she holds teachers accountable and CHALLENGES THE UNION. This Duncan guy gets along with the Teacher Union. Hyde Park= White House appointee..

Summers is gang busters for privatizing our public works to benefit power brokers.. Plus he is doesn't have the best opinion about a women's inherent intelligence. He is just another retread. Nothing Changing here.

Spiter versus Barney Frank

Question: Why did Barney Frank keep his Senate seat but Spitzer had to give up the Governorship? Frank admitted to paying for sex with the guy who ran the "secret" prostitution out of his DC townhome. Why is he still in the Senate ruining our Economy.

Bring the Spitz back--

Justice for all --?? I think not. Only for the fringe elements.

Financial Advisor Summers

I just finished a New York Times piece on Larry Summers who will be one of Obama's chief financial advisers. Even if liberals can live with someone who argues for the redistribution of wealth , as Mr. Summers does, the American people cannot.

In the article the reader is redirected to the paper's website to read how Summers was pushed out of Harvard due to sexism. Women and science controversy. The article is dated Nov 26. The section on Inequality between the middle class and wealthy is astonishing and actually terrifying. Advocating that people who earn over 1.6 million dollars give 800,000 away in 10,000 dollar increments to those of us who earn less than 120,000 thousand dollars a year is beyond centrist, it is positively left wing Socialism.

He argues that the middle class has made the least amount of gains in the last decade. I disagree. In fact I believe one of the largest voting blocks beyond the 18-25 year old was the over 100, 000 a year earners, voted for Obama. It has substantially increased over the last decade.

Where are the feminist now with this newest appointment of Larry Summers?

Couldn't we have funded a health care program twice over with what we are throwing at these combined bail outs...?

I am not a mathematician but a lot of this does not make any sense financially. Are there any Democrats who are willing to say no to Obama or Pelosi to these trillions of dollars that we are printing to throw at Citi Bank, etc. Where will they ever get the money for health care?

No I can't trust this Administration so far, I hope we can recover as a country eventually.

Thanks for the Insight

DIABLO

Bravo to your insight. Sorry that it can be painful but it is better now than late.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

I have confidence that in time, the American people will realize that rhetoric is not leading.

That politicizing the differences we have as Americans do not make a good leader.

I knew that my decision in a largely liberal area, Calif. , was not popular but I did stick to thehttp://www.realpics.net/view.photo.php?id=1260218 realization that McCain had the experience. Experience mind you that was criticized as being part of the Old Guard. He was compared so many times to Bush that I thought Bush was running for a third term.

I truly believe America made a blunder in electing a junior senator who campaigned on recycled jargon from a era that was full of upheaval. We were in upheaval but not based on race. Yes we are at war but 9/11 did happen and the war was a consequence. The financial crisis wasn't a big part of this campaign until the last few month. Obama pointed the finger at everyone but himself. He has this financial mess all over himself as well as members of his staff. The 1960's were about Change. We have no change with Obama. The Republicans did not even invite McCain to their Conservative Think Tank-

He was never considered conservative enough for them, and too conservative for the retread liberals of an earlier generation. I wish I could have done more for the campaign. I just assumed America would have thought before they voted. No, they did not, they jumped at the chance to be part of something. Next time maybe they should just go to block party or parade or a comedy show. I feel that the joke is on us.

Thanks Diablo for pulling Obama's covers.

Maybe in retrospect I am thankful about this election, maybe America will wake up from its nap and figure out what research reading and analyzing actually means. Then gratefully they may vote for a leader and not just a politician who speaks well.

Remember Day after Thanksgiving is Buy Nothing Day

Consumerism needs to stop not just because of the credit crunch but it lacks anything of inherent value.

Who is funding the Anti 8? Anyone probing them?

My question is who is probing the finances of the ANTI 8. I had heard that they out spent the Pro 8 . Just asking please do not attack me as being a right wing extremist. I read in the NY Times health section about 2 months ago a patient was described as a Democratic activist for most of his life.

Why is one group called an activist and another one called a Right Winger or worse.? Just asking the question.
