WHOSE VALUES? WHAT VALUES? WHAT BRAND OF CHRISTIANITY IS THIS?

THESE SO-CALLED CHRISTIANS APPLAUDED!
I'M A CHRISTIAN...BUT NOT THAT KIND.
WHEN BABIES & CHILDREN NEED MEDICAL HELP BECAUSE THEIR PARENTS CANT AFFORD IT, OR BECAUSE THEY HAVE A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION....THEY NEED HELP NOW! WHY DO SO MANY OF THESE 'SUPPOSED-PRO-LIFERS' ONLY CARE ABOUT THE UNBORN CHILD...NOT THE CHILD WHO IS CRYING WITH PAIN, OR LYING IN A COMA, OR IN NEED OF A PRESCRIPTION OR OPERATION? WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? WHAT COUNTRY ARE WE LIVING IN?
LAST NIGHT I WAS READING THE BOOK OF ST MATTHEW IN THE NEW TESTAMENT. REGARDLESS OF YOUR BELIEFS, THE ACTUAL WORDS OF "JESUS" WILL NOT SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE! JESUS SPOKE OF CHILDREN...NOT JUST UNBORN CHILDREN...BUT ALL CHILDREN! HE CONSTANTLY SPOKE OF HELPING THEM, FEEDING THEM, GIVING THEM 'A CUP OF WATER IN HIS NAME'....REMEMBER 'KATRINA', ANYONE? HE SPOKE OF PEACE, HEALING...HEALING...HEALING ALL WHO CAME TO HIM! NOT JUST THOSE WHO HAVE INSURANCE...NOT JUST THE FAMILIES OF 'GOVERNMENT-INSURED' POLITICIANS, NOT JUST THOSE WHO WENT TO A SPECIFIC PLACE OF WORSHIP!
JESUS SAID: BLESSED ARE THE MEEK, BLESSED ARE THE POOR IN SPIRIT, BLESSED ARE THE 'PEACEMAKERS'.
I ASK YOU, WHICH ONE OF THE REPUBLICANS IN THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION -OR- PRES. CANDIDATES -OR- THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS WHO WANT TO 'DICTATE' WHO YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR...WHICH ONE OF THEM ACTUALLY ADHERES TO ANY OF THESE PRECEPTS OF 'JESUS' (REMEMBER 'HIM'?)?
WHO IN THAT 'FAMILY RESEARCH COUNCIL' AUDIENCE EVEN REMEMBERS WHAT (FOR ME) CHRISTIANITY IS ALL ABOUT?
SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! ON ALL OF THEM!

NO BLACKWATER OR OTHER MERCENARIES

Last week I listened to investigative reporter Jeremy Scahill who wrote the book 'BLACKWATER'. (PBS -- Bill Moyers Show)
IF EVEN A PORTION OF WHAT HE SAYS IS TRUE, OUR COUNTRY IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION. THE HEAD OF BLACKWATER, ERIK PRINCE, HAS SO MANY NEFARIOUS TIES TO THE BUSH ADMIN. AND HAS THE ABILITY TO USE 'PENTAGON MONEY' TO MAKE LARGE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY....HE HAS TIES TO THE RADICAL RIGHT-WING RELIGIOUS CABAL, AND IS IN A POSITION TO INSTIGATE OR SUPPORT A COUP! ONE PHONE CALL FROM CHENEY OR ADDINGTON AND IT'S BYE-BYE AMERICA! APPARENTLY, NOW HE EVEN HAS SEVERAL IRAQI AIR PLANES & REFUSES TO RETURN THEM. WHAT NEXT?
We need to keep on this...email your senators & representatives, I did. I think it's more plausible that instead of Al Quaida patrolling our streets, one morning we'll look out the window & see BLACKWATER on our street corners!

I emailed all the senators on the Judiciary committee. I called my senator, Arlen Specter of PA, and spoke to his staff.
To no avail...as usual. I said, he took an oath to uphold the Constitution, not to follow party lines. This matter is not about party lines. Waterboarding is definitely torture, and YES the United States DOES TORTURE! AND YES, the president does go beyond the Constitution & the statutes & the FISA court!
I held out hope until the last, that enough senators would have the courage to do the right thing. But no.
I said something that I generally would not say...I asked if the 'staff person' knew whether Judge Mukasey was Jewish and whether that was why SEN ARLEN SPECTER was going to support him. If so, was he implying that Jewish supporters had no moral values and would want him to do so given Mukasey's lack of understanding about WATERBOARDING.
I DONT EVEN WANT TO KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION.
I will work very hard to defeat Specter in 2010.

Have any of you heard the other candidates in most of the debates say "Joe is Right" or "I agree with Sen. Biden"?
In times like these, we need someone with intelligence, judgement and a statesman-like quality.
Remember how many people (never me) ridiculed Al Gore as being stiff and nerdy? I bet they've wished a million times over that they would have taken him seriously. Look what we ended up with for 7 years!
Senator Joe Biden is the real deal and we need him now more that ever. Check out his web site, read his plan to get out of Iraq...give him a chance.
His son is Capt. in Delaware National Guard and will be going to Iraq. He has a vested interest in ending this war! So do I! I'm definitely voting for Biden!
Not one vote has been cast or counted...it's not too late to change your mind. America is depending on us.
