Let's face it - this is just about money, nothing more. They figure it might annoy some advertisers, so they blur it.
Children avoid things that are unpleasant (getting shots, eating broccoli, doing their homework) and must be forced, because they are children - they can't think through the consequences enough yet to realize that something unpleasant can be necessary.
The doctor is something we all have to grow up about, as we become adults, to realize that we have to be responsible for taking care of our body, that avoiding the unpleasantness of hearing news we don't want, the waiting room, possible lectures about bad habits we don't want to break - it's a bad idea because we will pay in the long run.
But the other half - we have to be adults, and take charge. The doctor is our employee. We hire him to check us out, we can fire him, we can ignore what he says - we're adults, not children going up before the principal. Changing the attitude you have going into your doctor's office makes it much more tolerable. Just be an adult - if he tells you to stop something you don't wish to stop - either ask why, or simply tell him that you won't be doing that, what's his next suggestion, given that fact.
It's a bit better - but I've watched a video - not a PETA video, but a visit to a farm of a foie gras producer who said the animals were fine with it, who was showing off his ethical treatment of the animals - nothing hidden camera no trickery - and sorry, but those poor animals run and struggle to get away from the feeding tube. I don't remotely buy that it's not painful when the animals give every indication that they're being tormented.
On the other hand - there are some foie gras producers that simply let the birds eat what they like, take advantage of their natural inclination to overeat. Those animals come running up to be fed. That's ethical.
And pollution is a real concern, for many animal farms. If they're out of line on pollution, then a lawsuit should be brought.
They've been making these "mistakes" forever. Putting a "D" by the name of politicians in trouble, even when they are Republican, using the wrong footage to exaggerate the size of any number of demonstrations that are for the right-wing - these supposed "mistakes" are a tradition and a pattern.
But - making the mistake of putting a parody of their Queen's book - that's the mistake where they get upset. Nice pattern.
What you're describing is a bit of sexual harassment - and they should be willing to shut it down.
And yes, because I thought that the next generation was something worth contributing to - social security and all. I did so because I want to raise them to do well and contribute to society. So yeah - I had them for your Social Security.
And that IS what all children today will be contributing to. You can choose how to react - but once you were a child too, and childless homeowners paid for all of your education - it's now your turn to pay for the next generation, just as you were once paid for.
Is this so hard to see? Every generation raises up the next generation - paying back what they got when they were raised. Your mom once went around with you, and you were sometimes a pain, and she needed help and got it.
To deny the truth doesn't change it. There are men, and there are women, they have very different physical abilities, and most of us are one or the other.
Some few of us are not one or the other - but that doesn't mean that all definitions need to be thrown out - it just means there is one more category - other.
And it's a problem when it comes to the one arena where we distinguish by gender - sports. We have to have a split, due to the different abilities of the two genders - what to do for those who don't fit into either category is a difficult decision - especially in a case like this one where she never knew.
Most pro athletes have different genetics than the rest of us, advantages that they were born with - you don't rise to the top of ANY sport, competing against thousands of others with plenty of drive and determination of their own, without something of an advantage. Still - testosterone seems a sufficient difference that to allow those who are both partly male and partly female to compete as females gives an unfair advantage -and a corresponding disadvantage to the hundreds of other competitors who also worked hard to train and compete.
According to these letters - it's pure jealousy that your family earns more than I do. How childish. Sorry that your choices in life haven't generated more income, sorry that you are so jealous that my savings and work choices have generated enough income to afford a home, car, child, and yes, a stroller (no, backpacks don't work so well when you need to carry anything more than the child - and even less well if you have back or knee problems).
I've never understood jealousy and hatred of those with more money. Plenty of people have more than I do - doesn't matter to me.
