Yes, let's subsidize the news media so the government has even more control. It is bad enough the entire MSM is in the tank for Obama and did not challenge him on a single position throughout the campaign. Now, the MSM is fully behind this spendulus bill that will plunge the country into a depression simply because the Dems want to make a power grab while the iron is still hot. Seriously people, this bill is over 1000 pages and Congress had about 6 hours to actually review it before it was voted on. Who can read over 1000 pages in 6 hours and actually remember everything that was read? And the Dems claim they didn't have enough time to read the intelligence reports (available for months before going to war in Iraq) because they were rushed to vote on it, yet I don't hear a single Dem crying about how this spendulus bill was forced through Congress. Oh the irony. It is rather comical and yet very scary what has transpired since Obama has assumed power. It's only going to get worse.
I keep hearing on the news now how they expect McCain to lead the Republicans to unite with Obama for the good of the country. Interesting concept there. I don't recall the Democrats uniting under Bush in 2000 after his election or even in 2004 win he beat Kerry. All I've seen for the last 8 years from Dems is pure hatred towards Bush and all Republicans. Expect plenty of payback during Obama's reign. What comes around, goes around. 56 million Americans didn't want him in the White House, while 63 million of you voted for socialism. Congrats! You'll get what you asked for with Obama. Taxes, taxes and more taxes.
More of the same old paranoid delusions on this website, as usual. The evil republicans are going to keep people from voting. Yea, only those that are not eligible to vote! If you're not a citizen, you don't vote...period! If you're not breathing, you don't vote! But I'm sure you liberals think it's okay for ACORN to see dead people and register them all to vote. Give me a break. If Obama cannot buy the election, he's going to try and steal it. He's raised nearly $700M so far in this election and how much of that has gone to the poor and middle-class folks? Not a dime! I'm so looking forward to this election finally ending in two weeks. I'm tired of seeing the circus comedy act, aka the Obama campaign, finally come to an end. Let me guess, you liberals will probably say comparing Obama to a circus clown is code language for black. I thought I'd seen it all in politics, but you liberals have taken it to the sewer this year.
Too bad you will all be losers again this year! Go McCain.
You know, congress playing partisan politics with our economic future is completely repulsive and totally unacceptable. Whether you believe in the bailout bill or not, congress is in full circus comedy mode at an extremely volatile time in our economic history. What these idiots do over the next few days could seriously affect us for generations to come! Enough already of this partisan BS!
95 Democrats in the House voted against this bill and I'm willing to be most of those 95 are up for re-election this November and didn't want their hands dirty. Now, either Pelosi allowed them to vote "no" or she lacks some serious leadership with her own party. Republicans by pure ideology do not believe in a bailout that represents socialism and the fact that even 65 of them voted for this bill is astounding. I just saw John Kerry talking about how the lack of regulation by the Bush administration is the root cause of this problem, but when asked why the Democrat controlled bank committee blocked regulation attempts on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack in 2005, he quickly changed the subject and said we should be focused on the bigger picture. Nice try John, but it didn't work. Democrats are the majority in both houses and you even have Bush supporting this stupid bill. There shouldn't be a single Democrat voting against this bill, yet there were 95 voting "no". Oh yea, and take out all those fucking earmarks you had in the bill too.
The American people are not going to take this bill seriously until one or both of these parties stops playing politics and votes it into action. I loathe everything about congress. I heard the CO2 levels went up in Washington DC over the weekend. Anyone want to guess why?
Right, McCain and the House republicans blocked or scuttled the bailout deal. Here's something to ponder. The Dems hold the majority in the House. They do not need the support of the Republicans to pass this bill. If they really believed in it, they should pass it on their own and stop playing politics.
