I think you need to proof-read this article ...
The original article talked about Bush not knowing who leaked Rove's identity! That has already been corrected.
but unfortunately none of them are by Ayelet Waldman, or Farhad Manjoo either, for that matter. Isn't it time to get rid of the perennial losers?
The millions of women who live in states where abortion would likely be banned should get their asses to the polls and vote Democrat. End of story.
there wouldn't be a Republican Congress for much longer. The lunatic right wing is *not* a majority. I'm as pro choice as anyone, but face it, Roe v. Wade is bad law, and it's a band-aid over the real issue, which is to get federal legislation that mandates the right to abortion.
This is why we have a Federal government. And to the poster who is concerned about the Supreme Court granting citizenship to the foetus - remember, the Supreme Court does not make law, it only interprets existing statutes. If the law is wrong, the place to get it changed is either the State or Federal government.
If the Supreme Court were to strike down Roe, then there would quickly be a Democrat dominated Federal government with the ability to legalize abortion nationwide. This is what the Republicans are scared of - it's better for them to have Roe on the books as a recruiting tool for the nutcases that they need to pander to in order to stay in power. They can chip away around the edges and make it almost meaningless, but its very existence still serves to rally the faithful.
Everyone should Google "Bush Asshole". Maybe he'll get the message.
Now we know for sure that Ayelet Waldman can't write. Not that it matters, not with all those erections and garter belts, it's got "best seller" oozing out of every sweaty pore. But I do hope that Salon will be an equal opportunity offender and allow Nicholas Sparks to publish an extract from his next work here too. If he wants to, of course ...
I think I love you ...
I can only say good riddance to the Bensons. Anna is utterly self-obsessed, not to mention being a silly cow who spouts right wing talking points and mistakes them for ideas, and her husband is an overpaid underachiever. Carlos Delgado, on the other hand, is intelligent, thoughtful, and a great player.
Lets have some tennis coverage from the only amusing sport writer in the business. While we're talking about unretirees, what about Hingis? Of course she still can't serve, but what odds could I have gotten 3 years ago that she would advance farther than either Williams sister in the 2006 Australian Open?
And that Grosjean/Kiefer match was one for the ages ...
And what about Marcos Baghdatis and Ivan Lubjcic, with the Aussie police separating the Greek and Croatian fans like it was a soccer match.
Come back Ayelet Waldman, all is forgiven. You've been out-whined ...
Sorry, but this is not the Salon that I signed up for. Get back to publishing interesting writers, or this is one more Premium account that won't be renewing. No more of this self-indulgent, self-obsessed, over-entitled middle class crap. I can get this shit on Oprah.
this is not about women, or about women's sex lives. This is about one utterly self-obsessed woman, who apparently think sex is a form of gymnastics, and about her banal response to a universal issue. Unfortunately this kind of naval-gazing seems to be the new thing on Salon. I say bring back Cintra Wilson ...
Well, of course. But I *pay* for Salon, because they provide an alternative voice that isn't heard anywhere else in the media. So, given that I help to keep them afloat, I would say that gives me the right to provide feedback when I think they're heading in a wrong direction. Don't get me wrong, I still thing that Salon is basically great. I love the poitical coverage, much of the arts coverage (especially the movie and book reviews), I enjoy King Kaufman and Tom Tomorrow, War Room and Broadsheet, and lots more.
I will also always stick up for the right of every woman to control her own body and her own sexuality. But what I can't stomach is a small group of over-entitled women who want to be writers, but who have nothing to say, spilling out their quasi-pornographic narratives of self-obsession in the pages of my favorite magazine. It doesn't belong here. Haven't you heard of *diaries*? You don't have to publish every last dribble from your psyche, some things are better kept to yourself. If you have to, start a blog, hopefully no-one will notice.
YAAAAAAAAAAWN.
"The act of reading -- of hunkering down and focusing on one piece of writing at a time, all the way through -- is quickly becoming a luxury we can't afford"
- Sorry, but I do that almost every day. Including Bleak House, which is a wonderful book, if not quite as great as the previously Masterpiece-Theaterized "Our Mutual Friend". While I'm pleased that they still make TV programs like this, I'm not watching it - I'd rather read a book. (It's very easy to find time to read if you never watch TV).
for you to completely ignore anyone who writes yet another self-help book?
Tell that to Sidney Poitier. Other than that, you're taking a lighthearted comedy way too seriously. And that's coming from someone who has been in an interracial marriage for over twenty years. Personally, I think the more interracial romance is shown as normal, the better, irrespective of which gender is which color. Hopefully one day everyone will be light brown anyway.
"It is a common delusion that you make things better by talking about them"
Please, no more blogs, no more feeble amateurish content. There are plenty of locations already available for people who feel the need to spew their guts over every triviality that occurs in their miserable lives. Enough already!
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
The accountability imposed by another country for the CIA's kidnapping and torture reveals much about our own.
