re: mattwa33186

I thought the Administrations song was "Gypsies, Tramps and (most importantly) THIEVES"

Respect

At least I can respect an administration that realizes their own ineffectiveness and acts accordingly to try and achieve a different result. As opposed to ours who accomplishes little and pushes on blaming someone else.

maybe he will have another heart attack

and then he will have to live life in a black uniform, complete with cowl and breathe deeply... That is the Darth Cheney we all know. Or maybe he will just die... but imagine what rollover Pelosi would do if she moved up?

Bush has what his father had, a VP that people like even less and wouldn't want in power.

bedrock presidential prerogative = established precedent?

So the "presidential prerogative" - best summed up by Cheney's infamous, "Go Fuck Yourself" - is now a legal defense? This is what happens when checks and balances fail. Congrats, we now have a monarchy, precisely what the founding fathers hoped to avoid. A single person or branch of government accountable to no one.

the power to "arrest and jail"

Now I thought the administration was immune to law suits, are they allowed to be arrested? Is it sick that these people are forcing this sort of question?

Oh man would that be phenomenal. Bush and Cheney doing a perp walk out of 1600. Oh yeah Jet packs and teleporters would be cool too.

capital?

so much for his imagine capital. Even Commander Cuckoo-Bananas has to be seeing through the fog that he is the lamest of ducks.

Here's what you have to remember when dealing with a world leader

You know how in a relationship, people who cheat always get super-suspicious of the other person and whether they are being cheated on? Wonder whether Bushie's behavior says more about him or Putin?

Maine East High School

Her, Harrison Ford, and a girl I dated in high school all went to Maine East High School in Niles, IL. The Blue Demons. What else don't "we" know?

further more....

From the women I have spoken to about this, their "projection of personal issues" involve her forgiveness of her husband after a public embarrassment. Right or wrong this will always stand out as something they don't see eye to eye with her about.

Any kid can tell you..

the excuse that it was ok to do something because some other kid did it, is a bad one. So as a kid, it is an excuse, as an adult it is precedent?

Original article: Money, meet mouth

here's a thought

What if we just cut off funding for the multi-billion dollar palace we are building there, and start accounting for the money we have already spent. Offer no more money without an sheet explaining what happened with the money already sent.

How many F's

in "Go Fuck Yourself"?

Monday, July 9, 2007 05:57 AM

So does this apply to everyone or just the administration?

Can I refuse to pay parking fines, because.. I don't know.. they make me feel icky? Can I refuse to have insurance on my vehicle because I suppose the other guy should have plenty? Can I ignore supoenas (supoenii???) against me if I so choose? What if I issue signing statements on my speeding tickets, saying I believe I am exempt from these laws?

Why is this government making a mockery of everything? Even the steroids thing, they accept non answers as valid responses.

Every parent knows I don't know and I don't remember are not acceptable answers!

Gonzales, Cheney then Bush

Do not Do it in any other order. Imagine for a second what President Cheney would do with an hour in the oval office... I just got chills and threw up a little in my mouth.

Original article: Quote of the Day

ummmmm

"Perjury and giving false testimony; now that is a major crime. A crime this President will not dare commit or tolerate."

tolerate or.. just forgive and commute to a slap on the wrist, and no doubt reward further in the future?

Wednesday, July 11, 2007 06:24 AM

Why are we acting so juvenile?

I mean defenses like, Well Clinton did it first... and chasing down with false bravado things like this that have little or no chance of passing seem like huge distractions and time waters. Go after Gonzales for lying to Congress, go after Cheney for his crimes, and then take out the smirking monkey at the top. and let's get shit accomplished. Quit wasting time on pissing matches and just do something!

Wednesday, July 11, 2007 06:45 AM

yeah i saw that last night

It is disgusting how people who are supposed to be public advocates are having their reasoned expert opinions edited by the faith-based beliefs of this administration.

"Carmona said he believed the surgeon general should show leadership on health issues. But his speeches were edited by political appointees, and he was told not to talk about certain issues. For example, he supported comprehensive sex education that would include abstinence in the curriculum, rather than focusing solely on abstinence."

"Another report, on global health challenges, was never released after the administration demanded changes that he refused to make, Carmona said.

"I was told this would be a political document or you're not going to release it." Carmona said. "I said it can't be a political document because the surgeon general never releases political documents. I release scientific documents that will help our elected officials and the citizens understand the complex world we live in and what their responsibilities are.""

funny

"Obsolete" - adj. What most people think of Alberto Gonzales.

Seriously, either the guy knew and lied = Jail him

or he received reports he didn't read or wasn't briefed on = incompetent = Fire Him

Original article: Webb amendment blocked

hmmm

Maybe they want to go home and clear some brush?

OK, seriously, is it just me and this has always been the case... But when did Presidents get to repeatedly deny the elected officials of the American people, doing the will of the American people at their whim? and WTF can't they overrule him on ANYTHING? just once. overturn the veto and force him to eat it.

in true Bushie fashion

She gave an non-apology apology. She is sorry for the embarassment and the email, but notice she doesn't retract that he was lazy or apologize for calling him lazy. Just apologizes that it was made public that she did it.
