Wake Up, Not Everybody Goes To Starbucks

Indiana Bobble-head weighs in: "I have been suspicious of Putin ever since he took over, and I think we are correct in being wary of him, despite what Bush somehow saw in his soul."

Yowzah!! These Russian guys are trying to cut into our action, as George Carlin would put it. They hates our freedoms. Don't phawk with number ONE. U.S.A.!! (say that three times and click your heels -- errrr, or is that, if we clap loud enough we can make it happen??). Listen, Bob. America doesn't cut the mustard anymore. Everything the government says is the opposite of what is true. The military is a spent force. Yep, it can still put a lot of hurt on people that don't kowtow to America, but, in the long run, it is bleeding America white. So, who cares if you don't like Putin or not. He's a major player, and he and his folks are light years ahead of the dinosaurs roaming the halls of the Pentagon, or even the two shiny-guys who would be the Wiz. And they know it. As does the rest of the world.

Low-information Voter???!!!

ROTFL!! Low-information voter?? Is this a wink & a nod at people that are really really really, not-quite-up-to-speed?? Been out in the bean field a little too long? Haven't had enough cups of coffee to jump start their lives?? Perhaps have a hard time figuring out how to tie the old shoelaces?? Or are these the willfully ignorant? Are these are the same folks that can reproduce, own firearms, drive vehicles, and vote?? Sheesh . . .

Sir, Yes Sir . . .

antineocon writes: "I also believe that if I knew that Iraq had no WMD unless the USA supplied them, then Powell should have known. I think he was somehow conned by Cheney and Rumsfeld or wasn't strong enough to withstand their manipulations and pressures."

Always the good soldier. Powell knew, but went along for the ride. Believe it or not, a person can refuse the commands of the C-in-C (and thanks for pointing out that the President may be the military's Commander, as civilians we don't have to salute him). Even that SOS Ollie North knew that he could refuse orders that were contrary to his duty to the nation, but he pledged his allegiance to a man, not to the constitution or his nation (and this is why he's a popular figure to the creepy right). Now Mr. Powell is banging his forehead and trying to make amends. Is this a case of Saul on the highway and seeing the light?? Sorry my friend, as Dubya's daddy would say, "Too little, too late". (Dubya's daddy also made one of the silliest statements of all time when he talked about how American's lifestyles were not negotionable . . . tell that to the rest of the world and expect some sympathy . . .). Sorry Colin, but you should come clean first, then maybe I'd have accepted your endorsement. It's a two-step thing. But in America . . . Stuff happens. Democracy is messy. Support the troops. We're fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here. Cheese-eating surrender monkeys . Cut & run. Raise the flag of surrender. Love it or leave it. Take it from my cold, clenched hands. My country, tis of thee. Always wear clean underwear in case you get hit by a car.

And a million other silly cliches. It's amazing that people actually believe this stuff.

Mona!!!!

Mona writes: "And, if Saddam had let the U.N inspectors complete their job, Powell's presentation at the U.N almost certainly would not have happened." Say it ain't so, Mona. Usually I read your letters with more than a little interest as you seem to be on the beam. But to say that Saddam was responsible for the U.N. Inspectors to leave is before they completed their jobs?? Someone slip you a mickey, or do you, like a sizeable amount of numbskulls, actually believe that malarkey??

From CBS, March 18, 2003: "U.N. weapons inspectors climbed aboard a plane and pulled out of Iraq on Tuesday after President Bush issued a final ultimatum for Saddam Hussein to step down or face war. A plane carrying the inspectors took off from Saddam International Airport at 10:25 a.m. It landed an hour and a half later in Laranca, Cyprus where the inspectors have a base. U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan on Monday ordered all U.N. inspectors and support staff, humanitarian workers and U.N. observers along the Iraq-Kuwait border to evacuate Iraq after U.S. threats to launch war."
