Anti-American??

wright5579 gets her knickers in a knot, hunches over her keyboard and one-fingeredly (maybe not, maybe she went to 'Close-Cover-Before-Sriking Secretarial School' and learnt how to type) punches in: "Wow -- Nothing brings out the anti-American liberals like the Olympics. Amazing." Anti-American liberal??? Anti-American?? Liberal?? Sorry, honey, but you obviously don't have a clew what sports are about. And forget about Olympics, sweetie. It's about humans. Humanity. It's supposed to exceed silly notions like nations. Leave the flag-waving to the symbol-minded. This is all about the determination, the will, the sheer-guts of the individual -- not sappy crap like "Ma Cuntry Bein' Numba Won". Get a life. Celebrate ALL of these people who strive to make your couch-bound life a little happier. It's all about . . . living. Joy. You know, all those anti-American sentiments.

Planet?? This one. What dimension are you from?? Home-schooled, right?

Thanks For The Heads Up

hypatia7777 writes (you notice there is no flag waving here):

"They're not surprised -- the commentators already know how it turned out . . .

The worst thing to me about the NBC gymnastics coverage of the uneven bars finals is that it's not live -- it's "plausibly live". They watch the event and find out what happens, and then they record their comments after the event."

Stephen Colbert, are you listening?? Cone of silence. Green room.

"The gymnastics commentators weren't surprised and puzzled about Nastia placing second, they were pretending to be surprised and puzzled."

Look at Dubya pre-Politics & Post (lame-duck). Ever seen a guy do 'puzzled' like him??

"They didn't accidentally miss the start of the medal ceremony -- they did it deliberately."

You mean they staged their 'surprise', and showed disdain by being arseholes?? Sounds totally, like, hey dude, whatever . . .

Remember the margarines way back when the Toronto Communist Socialist Blue Jays were in the finals for the World Series?? They marched out with the Canuck flag upside down.

Duh. Now, everybody on the planet knows that margarines aren't the brightest boys at the birthday party, but they ain't that dull. It's all about diss.

Explains McCain's raw-meat answers at the Fungatoid 'debate' he had in O.C. "Plausibly live" . . .

@underachiever

Ta. Thanks for that. Put down that flag, already.

Three things all decent human beings would be better for.

1. Never, ever, ever salute a flag. It's demeaning to people who are free, and the flag doesn't really give a flying Fernando.

2. Never bow your knee, or your head, to a gawd. It is cowardly to plight your trowth to something that would demand that supplication from you in the first place. And it might pee off the real gawd in the second place. SHE either has a great sense of humor, or she isn't the kind of lady you'd really like to know . . .

3. Always, always tip your wait-person. And stay away from Starbucks, there's always a real coffee shop near-by . . .

BTW @Right1234

"Seriously, I hate to sound like a conservative . . . "

Naw, you sound like a Republican. But I digress . . .

Dsylexia Or Humor

LowOrbitBoy quips (quite the quipster our LowOrbitBoy): "keith olderman" . . . . blah, blah blah. The question begs, is our LowOrbitBoy really quipping, or is he suffering from dsylexia?? You know, Dog loves you. And I wonder what Monsieur Savage would have to say about kids suffering from that particular affliction?? Slackers??

Rust Never Sleeps

That's why the righties are winning this war . . . persistance.

so, you gotta avoid the older guy marries younger rich woman stuff. That's s-o-o-o-o-o 2004. The right's been there, done that. Where's the real meat & potatoes? Google says it all: about 8,130,000 results for 'attacks on obama wife' / 'about 2,670,000 results for attacks on mccain wife'. This is just one front on this campaign's smears -- Obama's wife. Remember how the howlers went after Michelle's remark about how proud she was about being an American . . . . yadda-yadda. It didn't matter that the statement made perfect sense, it was totally bent by these werewolves. What!! Not proud of being an American (just on virtue of being an American, I guess). And that fist bump, the shock of it all. Sigh. As long as you have these dittoheads, anything, literally anything can be twisted -- these folks aren't so much Americans as being part of some kind of subset of Americans -- sounds like a really old Startrek episode -- the Yangs & the Coms?? Does it matter to these people that Limbaugh is a cigar-chomping misogynist paedophile? Nah, he's a made man in the tribe. That Hannity is a lying bullying preening POS?? Nah, he's on the 'in' -- another made guy. Annie 'The Stick' Coulter is a raving lunatic?? Nope, she's our gal. Jaysus's advice about motes of wood & planks & ?? Makes no difference to these folks. Doesn't apply to us, thank you. We're special. We are the exception. That's why these folks never admit any fault. They'll just point out that a) you did it first, b) you did it even worser, c) it just didn't happen, or d), see, liberals don't have a sense of humor, and hate America, too. So even if you spend time and effort and money to point out the obvious hypocrisy, it's all water off these ducks' backs.
