It's A Being American Kind Of Thing

"Why don't Democrats have a counter narrative to the "soft on terror" meme?"

This is the way it's always been -- you gotta do things the American way.

"Bush's actions give victory to the terrorists. Starting war, torturing, removing habeus corpus, putting US troops in harm's way, wasting billions, and illegally wiretapping US citizens are kinds of the things terrorists do or would like to do. Bush is doing terrorists' work for them."

Nice words, but most folks couldn't give a hoot about the evident facts. Look, America has always poured trillions of dollars into the military under the guise of 'defending democracy' and 'fighting for our freedoms'. What's the result? A totally useless offensive military killing force whose basic job is to project America's "interests" (ie. corporate might). Nobody blinks. And the pork?? Whoo-wee.

"Fearing terrorists is weakness and cowardice and gives victory to the terrorists."

Not going to sell where you have hundreds of millions of firearms in the hands of idjits who need to defend themselves against bad guys. America has become a nation of pistol-packin' pussies. Fear is the name of the game.

"You have more chance of being hit by a car, than being the victim of a terrorist attack, so it's not worth sacrificing American liberties. Besides, improved policing and intelligence will work better than war and torture."

Yeah, yeah. And you have a better chance of dying in a car crash than being in an air crash. Both comparisons are freaking stupid. Most of us are going to die because we eat crappy chemical food, have the the civilized world's worst medical care, and speaking of medical care, Americans are about the most 'medicated' and downright physically sick people on the planet. On top of that most folks are both illiterate and ignorant, and don't give a shit about anything or anyone except themselves anyway. Let's face it, fear and whining and loathing (come to think of it) are about the only things we're capable of doing.

Rant over.

It's Kinda Neat . . .

No rant today, daddy-o. I woke up before dawn from the kind of dreams you only dream about. Went outside to watch the sun meet the morning, met a pair of raccoons, obviously in love, and thought: "Dang, but how lucky can a guy get. A ringside seat to the end of well, maybe everything . . . ".

Can't say it couldn't happen to a more deserving world. Either Gawd doesn't exist or SHE has a danged great sense of humour.

Read The Constitution, Silly

Shooter writes: "Do you have an example of Romney saying that he will disobey the law, or go beyond the Constitution?"

I hate to be the burr under your pony blanket, but Ron Paul says it all, I guess you just weren't listening:

Bacchus Calling

I t'ink the feisty and contrary Mr. Owen may be doing one of two possible scenarios. He may be a) pulling your leg, or b,) struggling under the inebriated condition of his nom de plume, that famous Irish drinking song beloved of besotted Irishmen, particularly those who fought under flags other than their own (called mercenaries under more realistic circumstances). Either way, tis not a condition to be greeting Christmas & the Prince of Peace's birth . . . .

either way, let's wish him a most Happy Christmas and may both his head and his heart be cleared of the bile in the morning . . . .

All You Need To Know About Safegrams

Read her/his previous posts. Yep, none. As Edgar Winter said, "They only come out a night . . . . "

Or as Louis Armstrong said, "Izzat you anonymous troll??"

BTW -- Thanks for the 13 Dickheads. Hopefully they aren't in any particular kind of order . . .
