I agree, the NHL ought to make this an annual event, and it'll probably do something stupid instead.
If they manage not to, I'd like to see the Original Six teams get Ice Bowl games first. Second, I'd prefer that we not have Ice Bowl games in a warm-climate city. And say this being a Stars fan living in Dallas...
I have not read the books, but the fans of them I know seem to love True Blood. I like the show, but I'm tired of Alan Ball's habit of killing off every interesting character. And now that he's decided to go even further into cliche, I'm wondering if it's worth watching next season.
Let's not wish cancer on anyone, okay? Even if you disagree with them politically, to put someone (and their families) through the pain and suffering of dealing with cancer is not something you'd wish on anyone.
Act like humans, okay?
Because Penn says it as a joke; Beck believes it.
There is an entire story line in Watchmen about Veidt's project to create an "alien invader" to create a disaster to unify the world and prevent WWIII from happening. It's one of those "pieces of back story" that I suppose got removed, like the Tales of the Black Freighter. But it was these pieces that made Watchmen such an experience-the layers of story that, put together, made the book what it is.
When networks want shows that can be produced cheaply, don't require the audience to think, and are personality-based rather than character-driven. American Idol cost less to produce than your typical hour-long drama. People can watch Dancing With The Stars without any kind of mental strain. NBC will turn five hours of prime time programming over to Jay Leno because he's JAY LENO, who people know and like.
I realized recently it's been years since I watched an entire night of broadcast television. And I have not missed it at all.
I've always wondered if nobody on the plane thought about getting their cellphones out and making a few calls. Since you are on the ground, and the aircraft is not in operation, you ought to be able to use it.
Add TSA's contact number to your cellphone; it's 866-289-9673. And your airline's contact number, which should be on your ticket. If none of these work, get the numbers to the local news outlets-bet they'd love to cover the story. And if you are totally out of options, dial 911.
May I add my condolences to the others? Your mom had a big influence on you and I know you have many fond memories of her...
