I found your last post rather incoherent, but I will do my best to respond with a few points (in no particular order):
- You avoid the issue I brought up and chrislrob at least alluded to, which is Obama's clear oratory advantage. While you may find his communication style irritating in some way, evidence--both anecdotal and empirical in the form of polls--suggest that you are in the minority. Most people concede this point: that Obama is the superior speaker.
- Unless it is jargon unfamiliar to me, the term "simplistic reductionism" is redundant. Reductionism means to simplify. Generally speaking, I think we--society, the world, educational settings, family arguments, workplace relationships, global problems (you insert whichever noun suits you) need more complexity not less in our discussions. Reducing complex political problems to their simplest forms is tantamount to "bumper sticker" diplomacy, policy, justice (again, insert noun of choice)-- which are not real world in their scope.
- I agree with you that Obama did indeed quibble "denounce" and "reject" before conceding the point, but of course you can't really object to his quibbling if you don't also object to her quibbling on selfsame. Which leads to
- When you say "Obama supporters," you suggest we are a monolith. We are not. We "never" question or "admit"...? Read my letters. You will see I am fair, informed, and measured in my support for Barack Obama. I think Hillary Clinton is a great candidate. I think he's better.
