Joe, you're a real gentleman....

for not calling either of these spouses "K street whores", while nonetheless pointing out the obvious.

Friday, October 16, 2009 04:41 PM

Thank gawd someone (justice of the peace?) is concerned with.....

the fact that intermarriage can lead to children as beautiful and talented as Derek Jeter, or a thousand other refutations of his cracker crap.

Friday, October 9, 2009 03:26 PM

Someone should tell Rush that.....

there's nothing more emasculated than the rage of the impotent. Poor Limpbaugh, drug absuse can do that.

Thursday, October 1, 2009 05:46 AM

That's why the Post's exceptionalism...

is so exceptional. No one does it better.

When Max Baucus first campaigned for office...

he came to my friend's door asking for her vote. Her seriously retarded German shepherd wouldn't stop humping his leg while Max made his pitch. Little did I know that years later, the dog was to prove to be not as stupid as I had always thought, since he was the first of us all to recognize a true son of a bitch.

Original article: Ardor in the court, Part 3

Greenman is right

What is it about Texas that it produces a continual crop of people who think that state sanctioned killing is superior to the actual rule of law. It's priceless to read that a court of appeals believes that two officer of the court bumping uglies didn't mean that the scales of justice weren't unbalanced. As if the past eight years of Bush weren't enough of a joke, these clowns weigh in.

"Those men and women who undertake difficult intelligence assignments in the aftermath of an attack such as September 11 must believe there is permanence in the legal rules that govern their actions ...."

so that they can continue to cover their asses. Why should any adminstration have the ability to make their illegal actions not prosecutable by a succeeding one. The next step is a declation of Monarchy. I think the former heads of the CIA should recall their proven record of incompetence, and let the Justice Department finally do its job. Tenet took the fall for 9/11, but why should justice and the American people. After all there is that quaint document called the constitution some of us still believe in.

Pete Sessions is an expert on failed policies,

but the Senate Democrats are determined to give him a run for his money. I'm not sure why the tears (crodile in my opinion)from Alito's wife were so moving to the Republicans, and Pelosi's are not. Real emotions are human, but then I guess that explains the Limbaugh/Dobbs/Sessions of our degraded discourse.

@iowaboy46

Something else you might want to get straight is the lack of impeachment of Bush and Cheney for ginning up a war, which has killed thousands of innocent people. Talk about walking on a major crime.

@Rep. Bill Delahunt: Representing Ted Kennedy’s own beloved Cape Cod, Delahunt is a reliable liberal, and might be interested in running. It’s hard to see, however, what distinguishes him from the pack.

It seems to me that this is a fairly obvious admission of the fact that you haven't done your homework. Aside from Barney Frank, there are few people who could come close to replacing Ted Kennedy.

Tuesday, August 25, 2009 01:51 PM

Thanks, Glenn....

for your continued beating of the drum. This is a fairly simple issue to discuss, and of course leads the ignorant to outrage because they know they're wrong. Nothing is more maddening to the right than showing them for what they are: lawless and stupid. Keep at it.

Thursday, July 2, 2009 02:52 PM

oops

that should have been a "curious press."

Thursday, July 2, 2009 02:48 PM

"one thing comes through clearly: Palin is both deeply uninformed, as well as arrogant about being clueless. "

Unfortunately that didn't keep Bush from being the Supreme Court's choice. The invasion of Iraq following the Viet Nam fiasco, doesn't fill me with optimism about Americans' historical memory. And as you point out, an uncurious press isn't likely to suddenedly spring from the head of Zeus. We are fortunate that Michael Jackson didn't succumb to Swine Flu, or we'd be hearing about it till the end of summer.

next semester at Georgetown: Karl Rove teaches Civility in a Post-Partisan Age, Bill Kristol lectures on Accountability in Punditry, while David Gregory examines The Role of Intellect in Adversarial Questioning).

And they'll still call it a "Liberal Arts Education." Great work, Glenn. Nothing defeats bullshit better than well-reasoned facts, whether the Shepards (actually sheep) of the media realize it or not. Keep aiming your brillance at the bastards.

While I could normally sympathize with California's fate...

Senator Feinstein is the pox which you have inflicted upon the rest of this country. So I guess you're on your own with Arnie and Di. Good Luck.

Tuesday, June 30, 2009 03:30 PM

@Chris Sinnard

Thanks for taking on the drivel from Calamine. You saved me from the effort. And Glenn, excellent work as usual.

Tuesday, June 23, 2009 07:05 AM

Hopefully Herbert's column is the thin edge of the wedge,

and the rest of the media will have to recognize the logic he employs. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

"...the problem is that the word torture is loaded with political and social implications for several reasons..."

like Bullshit, Alicia? That's the problem with words: they mean something except to people who are being Good Germans. Social implications, my ass. Political cowardice, more like it.

Saturday, June 20, 2009 04:04 PM

Regardless of your viewpoint.....

you are guilty of misuse of the reflexive: "Others -- including myself ...". It's just plain "me", but doesn't sound nearly lawyerly enough for a lot of people.

Wednesday, June 17, 2009 02:15 PM

For me the Obama barometer was.....

his FISA vote, which revealed an astonishingly elastic spine. Unfortunately he is just a politician, granted one with a degree of charisma. The Gay community should be congratulated for holding his feet to the fire. How insulting to be told just as blacks were that he needs to take time. The time is now that we all be treated equally under the constitution. I trust that Obama will recall Carter's one term.

Thursday, June 4, 2009 08:32 PM

I couldn't agree more, and now if you will tell me

exactly why the major news outlets persist in replaying all the bullshit clowns like Limbaugh spew I could sleep at night. It went from "swine flu" all the time, to "controversy over a Latina nominee". We really are a nation of idiots.

Original article: Rush Limbaugh's new low

@reallynow and farragut

It took me a bit to realize that your puerile meanderings are just a poor attempt to make Rush looked measured. You guys are the same ones who think Gringrich is an intellectual. I wish I could say, nice try.

Original article: Rush Limbaugh's new low

opps - should have been chickenshit

so much for missing preview.

Original article: Rush Limbaugh's new low

Rather than "a forest of ignorance", Joan

I think a pool of putrescence is a more apt metaphor for Rush and the chickshit Republicans. They are such losers that they fail to see they provide the definition of losers to everyone but perhaps the monied media. How long will we have to wait before the comparisons to Hitler come over the evening news as their latest tantrum.

Original article: "She could Bork herself"

@Elephantman

Most Republicans don't recognize disgrace any more than they do shame or bigotry. I'm sure Mr. Miranda still buys his own PR, and with the state of the Democrats he'll always have a job.

Sunday, May 31, 2009 05:41 PM

Trainman, you should heed Mark Twain's advice...

about attempting to teach pigs to sing. It is especially relevant when responding to anything Elephantman writes. He doesn't realize that he's an Irrelephantman.

Saturday, May 30, 2009 03:52 PM

@Mike Bailey

Like you I respect Taguba, and I have since he did the right thing. I also respect you, for your service and smarts. Consider this a salute to honor, from a civilian patriot.
