It was a mistake to quit. Atrios wouldn't have quit, Kos wouldn't have quit, Digby wouldn't have quit. But then, maybe they wouldn't have taken the gig in the first place. It's hard for me to imagine how you or Shakes or the Edwards people thought this would play out. But it looks like you gave away your power, which is like flunking Feminism 101. You made it easy for them. You folded so fast that it's shocking. You're really going to have to think hard about what just happened and come to terms with the part of you that got scared and ran away.
"As my Salon colleague Glenn Greenwald has pointed out, the right's strategy is 'to feminize ... all male Democratic or liberal political leaders.'"
Yes, and to gay bait all strong, liberal females as lesbian (not just Hillary), which underscores the necessity of the left endorsing gay rights. As long as liberals run away from gay rights, half-heartedly endorse them, or show their discomfort, it will be the bat that they are beaten with (figuratively speaking). Hear that John Edwards?
No one has written more articulately on this subject than Digby.
From Wikipedia: In December 1969, Rove's father left the family, and divorced Rove's mother soon afterward. After his parents' separation, Rove learned from his aunt and uncle that the man who had raised him was not his biological father; both he and his older brother Eric were the children of another man. Rove has expressed great love and admiration for his adoptive father and for "how selfless" his love had been.[4] Rove's mother committed suicide in Reno, Nevada, in 1981, when Rove was 30 years old.
Abandonment rage? Many fine people come from troubled families, and while it's pointless to speculate on the dynamics that turned little Karl into an anti-social monster, I have a feeling that the country has been paying dearly for it for some time now. Sending him to a good therapist would have been a lot less costly.
Thanks for reporting the "tentative evidence" in the new study about lesbians and weight, Tracy. It's so rare to hear anything about lesbians in general, so I really appreciate it that you found space in your column for this fascinating tidbit from that most excellent source of information about lesbians, The Advocate (LOL). Keep it comin', babe.
You just can't stop the sexism, can you, Kamiya? You're not doing your candidate any favors. At this point, I don't care what her views are, I am so sick of the misogyny in this campaign that I am willing to vote for her just to piss you boys off. Think I'm the only one? We'll see on November 4.

There. Now you don't have to spend $14.28 at Amazon.
How nice that the Left's resident misogynistic blogger, John Aravosis, is taking on Rick Warren. Aravosis was the Democrat blogs ugliest sexist when it came to trashing Hillary Clinton during the primaries, which is why I no longer care about anything he has to say.
Aravosis should have known what Obama was all about after the Donnie McClurkin story. But Aravosis was so blindly in love with Obama, and so hateful about Clinton that he is one of the reasons we are stuck with a president who has, um, issues when it comes to gay people.
Aravosis should clean up his act before he starts pointing the finger at other haters and bigots. After all, know how sexism and homophobia go hand in hand. I actually think Aravosis and Rick Warren deserve each other.
Talking Points Memo has no credibility with me anymore after Marshall's shameful behavior during the primaries, when he made it his personal mission to promote and defend Barack Obama no matter what. I wouldn't click on that crappy blog if you paid me.
