  • In this case, the messenger really should get the blame.

[Read the article: What did Clinton do wrong?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"Her campaign never even made an effort to show that, and instead sent her out to say ridiculous things that made her look even more craven."

The point is, she agreed with the strategy, and said those things. And she is continuing to say ridiculous things. Now she is claiming to be the choice of all the hard-working Americans....you know, white Americans, evidently, the true Americans.

If I were a New Yorker who does not fit her description of American (i.e. hard-working, white) I think I would really reconsider giving her my vote next time around. Maybe she'll move to West Virginia, where she will feel more appreciated.

  • I don't get it

[Read the article: Hurricane Bristol hits Minnesota]

I am a mom of a teenage daughter. I cannot imagine knowingly subjecting a young pregnant daughter to the 24 hour news cycle....TV, the Internet, and traditional newspapers. She knew her daughter was pregnant, and she accepted McCain's offer. Just so we voters can all appreciate what a loving, caring martyr, I mean mother, Sarah Palin is....I feel sorry for the poor young girl.

  • Let's consider per capita amounts

[Read the article: Palin's the real winner of earmark race]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Sen. Obama represents approx. 12.8 million people from the state of Illinois (2006 US Census Bureau estimate). So, $931.3 million divided by the population of Illinois would mean an earmark amount of $73 per person, over the course of 930 days. Gov. Palin acquired $453 million in earmarks and represents .67 million people (2006 US Census Bureau estimate), which works out to $676.12 per person, in less than half the number of days!

  • Modesty and candor

[Read the article: Biden: Clinton might have been the better running mate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Are not bad characteristics, and there would have been no other right answer....just think about it. Biden is the pick, and he can afford to acknowledge that Hillary Clinton is qualified for either position. And...he was probably thinking the country wouldn't be facing the possibility of a President Palin in less than four years!

  • McCain/Palin separation anxiety?

[Read the article: Quote of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I wish I had the talent to draw toddler John McCain, standing beside a mommy Palin, sobbing, and holding on to the security of her skirt, as she tries to return to Alaska.

  • Psssst!The neighbors are watching!

[Read the article: John McCain's dishonorable campaign]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

That's what it looked like to me. An abusive husband feeling like he must apologize as soon as he realizes the neighbors have been watching.

  • Taxable income?

[Read the article: How real Americans dress]

I thought James Warren asked a relevant question this morning on a news program, after another analyst dismissed the whole subject.
