  • Oil and Obama

[Read the article: Slick John McCain and the offshore oil ruse]

Any proposal of Obama's raises taxes. Does it matter whether we pay for it at the pump or out of my paycheck. It's money I don't get to keep. At least I get gas to drive my car when I line the pocket of oil companies. The more money I give the greedy people in Washington (Dem's or Rep's) is less money in my pocket and less control I have in my life. Even if I don't have complete control over industry - I have even less control over government. Any power we endow them with - is NEVER given back. At least I can boycott industry!

  • Change

[Read the article: Slick John McCain and the offshore oil ruse]

I do not fear change - I just like the know the type of change I am in for - beforehand - he hasn't made that real clear - except that it will involve more government intervention and me paying more taxes. No thanks - I don't need that type of change.

His whole CHANGE premises is based on the assumption that America is broken - American isn't broken. The jerks in Washington have always been broken and it is our own darn fault that we keep electing them. But America is good and I am darn proud to say I am from America and part of the American dream. I proudly wave my flag and would happily wear a lapel pin that indicates my patriotism. I have ALWAYS been PROUD of the American way and the good we do in the world. Sure, we aren't perfect - no one country is - but you would be hard pressed to find any better place to live in this world and I am sick of all the people who want to "change" it and make it more like a socialist country or worse yet - one step closer to a communist (communal) state. That model has never produced happy and productive people. This model does. Sure there are those who still haven't figured out how to do it - but it isn't because the opportunity isn't there - it is because they haven't figured it out. Let's spend more time helping people figure out how to succeed within our great country rather than changing it so that no one succeeds. Under Obama we are all equally mediocre!

  • Be Specific

I don't see anything specific in your rantings! Be specific about how he will implement all his CHANGE without raising taxes. That would interest me :-)

  • Naive

[Read the article: Why Clinton voters will come back to the fold]

Your article is a bit naive. John McCain is far from a Republican. He is an Independent, who I personally don't like - but I HATE Obama. I don't even like the current Republican regime. I will have a tough time at the polls this year.

John McCain, much like Obama will SAY anything to get elected. That is why it is critical that we analyze their past. Their past is a very good indicator of the future. People say anything to get elected and then just go back to the old ways, once in the comfort of the Oval Office. So all you whiners out there who complain that we dig in to their past and scrutinize their record and their integrity and who they associate with.... we do the same when we go apply for a job. I have to get a background check. And if I want a security clearance - they really dig deep. Shouldn't the person who holds the highest office in the country have the most secure of all clearances and be subjected to intense scrutiny? His job is far more important than mine!

I want to do my homework and find out who these people really are - outside the limelight. I want to know who they are and what they stand for, when they are not running for election. Don't you?
