What Exactly is Adult Time on TV

My question to people who didn't think their kids should see Adam Lamberts performance I ask (a) what were they doing up so late and (b) it was definitely after 9:00 p.m. which is adult time. Not everything is about kids -- and I for one am tired of parents wanting everyone else to adjust so that their children can "safely" watch TV 24 to 7. The entire show was raunchy -- but no more so than usual -- I was more offended by the bad music and outfits than anything -it's pretty easy to tell when folks are going to shock value - in Adam's case at least he can sing (and that wasn't nearly as bad as Lady Gaga's butt crack in the mirror yikes!)

While I agree adults can act up - they also get booted off planes for misbehaving. Not being there it's hard for anybody to judge if the action was warranted. However I can attest from being in public these days there are lots of children whose parents do not discipline them and are oblivious to what they are doing. A plane is close quarters and if a parent cannot contain their child it becomes a Mr. Spock scenario - the needs of the many outweigh the needs of a few. It's not fair to paying customers to have to endure non-stop screaming and kicking for an extended period of time - unless there's a medical issue or it's an infant - which to me is entirely different.

If a child is sick - that's one thing. But there need to be some general rules about unruly children. Maybe what the airlines need is a time limit - e.g. if a child doesn't pipe down on one leg of the journey - then off they go on the next layover. Alot of it is judgment -- I think everyone with kids has experienced the public meltdowns - but it's usually pretty easy to tell that from kids who are just undisciplined. If the airlines set out rules then parents will know ahead of time.

Original article: "Obama is average"

Isn't it Ironic

How conservatives continue to try and diminish Obama's accomplishments by saying liberals act like he's the second coming - when most of them act like they would sleep with Reagan if given the chance. What did Reagan accomplish? BY the end of his term the country was in a bad place economically, he ignored and misstated the AIDs crisis to the detriment of who knows how many thousands and he created the political era of hate and fear mongering by cozying up to the Moral Majority. '

It is too early to pass judgment on Obama because he's cleaning up 8 years of mismanagement and catastrophic foreign policy and economic decisions by Bush. But given the Republicans can't move past Reagn to the point of mimicking Weekend at Bernie's I hardly think any conservative pundits offer any new or constructive criticism or solutions to make them anything than what others have already pointed out - that the Republicans are currently the party of NO ideas. . .

Speaking of Rush Suing

I suspect Rush like other Republicans is a support of tort reform, trial attorneys being evil, etc. - so filing a lawsuit would kind of blow that argument out of the water -similarly to when Trent Lott sued about his insurance claim after Hurricane Katrina (despite being a big tort reformist). But I think a lawsuit in this case would be great - because of the negative statements by Limbaugh about all minorities would be relative to the proceeding and remind everyone what a heinous person he is when it comes to using his bully pulpit to stir up the wing nuts in this country. I'd be surprise if he does sue - because he strikes me as someone with lots of secrets he doesn't want made public -- and the spotlight of a lawsuit would uncover alot about who he really is. I've never thought he believes much of what he says.

As for those who say he never lies -- go back and check out his various conspiracy theories regarding the Clintons . . .

C. Mosby

Snyder sounds alot like Limbaugh and I can see how they'd be buds. And in typical RW conservative fashion Snyder dumped his friend because of money. All I'm saying is this has nothing to do with political agenda and everything to do with profits. I"m sure there were people involved in the deal who didn't want it to happen. Rush isn't the only person to want a sport franchise and be turned down. The difference here is Rush puts himself out there as a wind bag almost inviting people to shoot him down -- this time they did -- and typical of Limbaugh (as with his drug addiction) - it's everyone else's fault but his own.
