Original article: Obama surfs through

Oh Camille. I still like deep fried Twinkies, but that doesn't make them less unhealthy

There are so many off base claims in your article I don't know where to start.

The "NEW WAVE" of feminism will not be started by Sarah Palin and encompass and antiabortion rhetoric. The Pro-choice stance is not about being Pro-abortion, it is about being pro-women and pro choice.

You see deep intelligence in her? I'd enjoy viewing whatever video, blurbs, interviews you've seen that led you to this conclusion. I deeply disagree. I'm no saying she's some utter moron. I'm saying she's another George Bush. I person of average intelligence who is thick with charm and thin on the substance it requires to lead a country based on what is right for its people, not what you were taught in Sunday school.

The many claims you make about Mr..Ayers and his wife:

You are shamefully inaccurate here, and you know it. There is opinion and there is fact and you are a journalist, so you should be more ethical. {you all should. a great deal of the sad gossipy reporting in this election was sickening, on that we agree} The Weather Underground did not bomb American citizens. You just watched the documentary, so I know that you realize that, clearly. NOT ONE LIFE OF AN AMERICAN CITIZEN was taken by these people NOT ONE. And the targets were government buildings only. The only people ever injured or killed were two Underground members themselves while they worked on explosives. Now, I am not condoning their action. I'm just singing to the tune you are playing: GET IT RIGHT, BE ACCURATE.

I think you are a first rate journalist slipping quickly into a second rate side show over a woman you want to believe in. I also think the media disregards woman in power either making them insipid or masculine. But that does not make Gov. Palin a misunderstood genius, just another charming not overly bright person who thinks that charisma= leadership. You are backing the wrong horse. I don't know if you are trying to be sensational, or you are just not seeing the forest for the trees.

Original article: Buh-bye, Bratz?

Yeah!

For all the cries that Barbie is bad for little girls, never once in my childhood did I think I was suppose to look like Barbie. I never saw her chest size or hip size as normal. The woman I saw as pretty and who I was supposed to look like was like my Mom. I wanted to be like Barbie in all those other ways, the ways she could be a dancer, and a doctor and a vet and a Mom.

On the other hand....I think Bratz dolls look like Tweenage whores. Barbie did not come with go go boots, mini shirt and mini skirt. I know tons of women and men who took one look at those dolls and had the same WTF moment I did.

So, burn Bratz burn. Me and firefighter Barbie will watch gleefully from the side lines.

Lovely Work

I loved it.

For all the complaints that this article is somehow beneath we readers as it has nothing to do with election-economy-Obama-torture-recession-depression-or-war....

Let's stop, for a moment.

Our world is full to the brim with desperate needs right now. A thousand ways to fail are around every corner. Situations greater than ourselves require our diligent attention as not to be allowed to sink into even murkier depths. And this article addresses none of these troubles.

Is that what really is upsetting? I think it's worthwhile to note that there are not dozens of complaints questioning the newsworthiness of one of the top 5 viewed articles "Does This Make My Butt Look Fat?"

Which cause me to wonder if all this anger isn't more about a flawed and complicated person, stating so plainly their own complicated truth. It seems impossible to be so honest and accurate about one's self, doesn't it? The responses cast stones upon this speaker, in the form of pithy barbs and self important snobbery over her syntax and choices. I wonder what flawed and complicated truth you are unable to find the words to say, to judge another so savagely? We are all villains in someone's story. Never forget that.

This is a lovely tale, and well told. It was confessional, and captivating. And it certainly makes the reader feel something. Excellent work.

Original article: This Modern World

As always, Bravo

I was told that I was "A child holding onto grudges" when I said I hoped that some of our former administration should be prosecuted, and held accountable for their actions. I was stunned at how many people I know, people who marched with me at protests, feel this way. Where is the guilt? Where is the justice?

Wow.

What. The. F... Indeed. I.... am speechless. it's not the first time, but it's rare enough. I'm just going to beleive that this woman got drunk before she wrote this and and said to herself, "What is the most absurd, almost insane comparison can I make today that is almost certain to inspire hate mail?" and then really really hit it out of the ballpark, woke up the next morning and desperatly whispered to herself, "Oooooooh God, did I really send that last night? Nooooooooo."
