Two thoughts:
1) Doesn't everyone have different preferences when it comes to physical attraction? Just as much props should go to Keira for looking good in a leather strap as go to Helen for busting out of a red bikini.
2) Keira's a star, I bet people will go to see the movie based upon their attraction to her performances regardless of how much cleavage she has in some poster.
There is a clear dividing line in this argument between partisans for the Democratic party and partisans for the rule of law. To me (a fairly recent convert to the Democratic party, I joined in 2004), the Democratic party is only as good as its positions on the issues.
Far too many people treat party affiliation like affiliation to a sports team.
The hyperbolic teenage angst really shines this week. I especially love the thought bubble within a thought bubble art. I'm not sure I've ever seen it done so well before.
It feels great to laugh at how silly we used to be as kids.
Any word on getting a timer display?
Something like
10:35 / 49:16
would be great.
It's clear that the judge is just pretending to be impartial. He's setting up the clear counterarguments of critics of the trials just so they can be defended later:
"That argument already came up and the judge ruled on that. He was openminded and fair."
Remember, no matter how clumsy Lucy's attempts to get Charlie Brown to try and kick the football, he always fell for it. Smart observers like the ACLU see through it, but our lazy mainstream media will gobble this crap up.
Excellent. I've been planning a weekend canoe trip for weeks now. I just need to remember to wear my life vest.
It seems like one of the big stumbling blocks is that sperm production is never naturally limited. The pill and Viagra are different because it was already known how women don't get pregnant and how men get erections.
I've never heard anyone say they know how or have ever seen suppressed sperm production/emission.
If I'm wrong about that, I'd love to be enlightened, because I'd take that pill in a heartbeat.
First of all is the comfort factor. It would be great to not have to wear pants in the summer. I try to wear shorts as often as possible. Skirts don't necessarily solve this problem because shorts will suffice just as well. I'd rather see a baby step towards having dress shorts become more accepted.
Second reason would be for gender equality. A nice summer dress always looks fantastic to me, very casual and elegant at the same time.
Ignoring the possibility that the next president might not restore the rule of law, it should not take a new president for our system to work. Is it just that things work slowly, as they did for the Japanese-American internment? Or are we past a point of no return?
I would have thought that these outrages were impossible if they hadn't actually happened.
Give me a break. Too many letter writers think this conflict has something to do with America or our current election season.
As much influence as our country has on the world, the rest of the world doesn't revolve around us. It seems more like it's 95% dynamic between Russia and Georgia and 5% about what the rest of the world thinks of it.
What can we realistically do here? It seems like diplomacy and a reevaluation of whether we want Georgia into NATO.
The marriage is about a relationship, not about the legalities. The LW has already divorced her husband with her resentment and her withholding. Do him a favor and finalize the divorce so he doesn't have to wonder if it's really over.
At the same time, the LW should get into individual counseling and try to figure herself out. Hopefully she'll start to figure her life out and why she's always had these relationship patterns.
I call BS on her lack of sportsmanship. In the middle of her interview after the race, she excused herself in order to give a hug of congratulations to the silver medalist.
Her emotions must have been overwhelming, and she just needed some minutes to compose herself. But in the end, she did summon that composure.
I wouldn't mind having Haskins as a regular feature here on Broadsheet. I've seen every video of her that I could find, and I'm thrilled that there's a new one.
Damnit, I'm laughing here in my cube just remembering some of them.
Keep up the linking!
Wooooooohoooooo!
Is the power of the Village going to fade? Is the Beltway media audience growing smaller each year? Will any of us live to see the rule of law restored?
It would be interesting to see the percentage of nepotism in the Senate over the years. You said that 18 current Senators are related to former politicians. How many Senators were like that 100 years ago?
Hard numbers should always be more compelling evidence than a set of anecdotes. Although I must also say that the practice is troubling regardless of it's difference in how often it happens from the past.
Notice how all these agents also requested anonymity for their comments. Most of the excuses for those requests are uniformly lame.
How can you claim someone is too dangerous to release when the evidence won't stand up in court? Maybe these war crimes apologists have magic invisible zombies whispering proof of guilt into their ears.
I find that more credible than confessions obtained through torture.
... still not regretting redirecting the money I would have sent to Obama to the ACLU.
I think a lot of these people never really saw the Bush administration as "the Government". I think they knew Bush was in charge, but he was doing everything as an outsider.
If you think that way, then when Bush tortures, it isn't government sponsored torture: it's in the service of a Leader.
