• Ugly planes and security

  I think the DC-10 gives the 380 a run for uglyist plane. The third engine screams "After thought" Compare it to the L-1011 which made the DC-10 look like the ugly duck it is. Disclaimer: I worked at the "Lazy "L" ranch" during the L-1011 days, but did way cooler missiles and stuff.

  It seems that the security folks at most airports haven't a clue (or any intelligence, take your pick). I just flew out of SEA, and in less than a minute there were three obvious problems:

  1) They now have these cute little carts for the bins - however, they place them in the cafeteria tray line, so each time you come to one you have to lift your bins up and over the carts.

  2) The scanner "discharge ramps" are way too short

  3) ALMOST NO CHAIRS FOR PUTTING YOUR DAMN SHOES ON - and NEVER ANY CHAIRS FOR TAKING THEM OFF.

  They have had over five years to get it together, and for the most part it is still a joke.

  Also, no one seems to be able to answer this simple question: Why on earth would I be stupid enough to put plastic explosives in my shoe heals when I can just carry it in my pants pockets.

  Sad to hear people are still paying that turd Goldberg to write. I thank God that my local paper dropped him.

  Now, If I could just get them to stop sending my money to Krauthammer. It has been sad to have to watch someone's decline into dementia.
