Wow so the National Enquirer is now the paper of record? Does this mean that George and Laura really are on the outs? When do we get all the juicy details? That will be impressive. If it's in the Enquirer it must be true!
Who exactly in the Obama campaign called Bill Clinton a racist? We know Obama didn't but the explanation I keep getting is that "they" were stirring the pot behind the scenes. These people must have names. So far, nothing.
Bill and Hillary made remarks they thought would appeal to white (some racist, some not) people who might doubt Obama as a viable candidate because he's Black. They also knew they enjoyed an enormous amount of goodwill and support from the Black community. When Hillary quoted a news article saying she was fighting for "hard working white people" she was speaking to a specific group. Surley we (Blacks) understood it's just hardball politics. Essentially they threw us under the bus for their own ambition thinking they could make ammends later. That's what Black people are upset about. No one likes to be publicly insulted and taken for granted. Poor Bill just does't seem to get it. He still feels misunderstood. Bill, we understoodd exactly what you meant. You aren't a racist , just an opportunist.
He can speak at conventions 'til the cows come home but it will be a long time before he regains the stature he once had in the Black community. He needs to stop whining and blaming Obama and blame himself. So please don't tell me that Bill Clinton is owed anything. The majority of Black people are unified, we're not the problem. It's white people that think he's a racist, that's his problem.
Mrs. Palin appears to have a few ethical problems. That whole ethics investigation is not as unimportant as it may appear. Apparently the Alaska State Legislature has just begun it's investigation and her husband seems to have his hand in the mess as well. Let's just see how this all plays out because a lot of people in Alaska don't like her. I believe her nickname is "the queen".
I found it interesting that all the pundits think Obama now has a real problem with women and independants because she's female. What I want to know is what is her position on health care and the minimum wage? How about equal pay for equal work? Her husband is a union worker so does that now mean the Republican's will be supporting unions? What's her position on education, I assume she wants to keep Head Start.
I do hope woman understand this is just another insulting and cynical Republican game. I agree with whoever compared her to Clarence Thomas. You want someone Black? We'll give you someone Black. You want a woman? We'll give you a woman.
Black's are not voting for Obama just because he's black. That's not to say we aren't extremely proud of him. Pat Buchanon defends white voters choosing not to vote for Obama becasue he's black by saying we're only voting "for" him because he's black. The problem with that flimsy argument is that we black people have a tendency to vote our self interests no matter what color the candidate. It just happened in Tenessee with a young black woman who ran against Steve Cohen (white AND Jewish). She attempted to smear him and say he's not "one of us". He won in a predominantly black district by a landslide. Why? Becasue he's a good man and he speaks to the issues that most concern his constituents. We take our right to vote very seriously for reasons I don't have to mention here.
I've always been amused by white people who actually thought Colin Powell would get the black vote had he run for office. Not true. Once he aligned himself with the Republican Party and the Bush Administration the only votes he'd have received would have been from black republicans.
I hoped you wouldn't allow yourself to get roped into the "what about Hillary?" game. You did, you always do. Just for once could you dropt it and move on. The idea is not to rehash Hillary but to get Obama elected. This show pushes a conservative agenda. Commenting on the past makes you appear disappointed and feeds right into their narrative, "what about Sarah?". She's not the first female VP nominee. Why even comment on her at all.It reminds me of Democrats always having to "Honor" John McCaine's service. Enough already.
Do you ever go back and watch yourself on these shows? You tend to criticize Obama then eventually come around to defend him or his positions. If you're heart isn't in it please don't do it. There are plenty of liberal female pundits who'd love to enthusiastically make the case for an Obama presidency. This is hardball not play fair and make nice. If Hillary taught you anything she should have taught you that. Now if deep down inside you'd like to see him lose, well.... never mind.
Sarah Palen is running for president of the United States, period. This country is on the road to distruction and there are still people out there who haven't made a decision?!
