..and while I dont agree with much RealName posts...
This last little take down made me laugh out loud.
He IS kinda right, you know.......and this agreement is coming from someone who really LIKES Salon....in spite of it.
Well hell....now I REALLY want him to run.
I have never read a writer who actually managed to make me feel queasy just blathering on about ....well....whatever seems to pop into your "I'm kewl cuz I'm a contrarian" head.
You kinda gross me out. I don't really understand why.
Fascinating. From a distance, anyway.
Please go away?
It
is
a
fucking
CARTOON...
...and ...
"Steve is a pig" cartoons are Breathed staples. Deal.
Just Deal.
You cheerless fucks on both sides of the isle need to go ..um...skinny dipping...with a cocktail, or something.
Go watch the doc. "Shame" on HBO if you want to see some REAL sexism....otherwize, kiss my freckled arse.
You are the most hateful creature!
I'm willing to say THAT over and over for a fraction of that.
Say....10%?
Gosh..smartypants, alla youze.
I have nothing brilliant to add, other than ........gulp.....three more episodes, and then no more of this.
Damn. I'm gonna mourn this harder than Six Feet Under....and that was some mourning, dang it.
Queer National....
Martini?
....Well said.
I would buy you a drink if I could...
My favorite part of the original letter, the opening sentence....
"What you call bigotry and hatred is Biblical Christianity".....
Talk about your failed logic!....Let's turn that around:
"Thank 'Imaginary-Diety-in-the-Sky' I am not a Christain! That krazy kult even SAYS they are for bigotry and hatred! Its the BASIS of their religion, as least as practiced by its troglodyte followers!"
ah...better.
"As I watched the coverage last night, I was struck by how many people said, in some form, "yeah, I guess that he a lot of bad ideas, but at least they were sincerely held beliefs." And the "sincerely held" part was supposed to forgive the oppressive nature of his work."
Excellent point.
Yup...lotsa folks in Iraq and Afganistan with sincerely held beliefs.
Lots.
Sharpton is most definitely a dork of the highest order.
True....and still.... what glee you must have felt in making that post! How dazzling is your sting! How true your aim!
I love Republican trolls on liberal websites (and vice versa). It's such a great way to learn hundreds of ways to say "I know you are, but what am I?".
Thanks for your contribution!
The man (and I use that term loosely) did nothing but hate, hate and hate some more.
He deserves no sugar coating, in spite of his dough like appearance.
Just tacky, as the first poster stated.
God, I used to like Oprah. Thought she was a good actor. Then, I didn't like the show, but hey, liked the magazine, being upbeat and not about fat, fat and more fat and how to get rid of it lest one live a life of pain and horror forever more.
So... that was nice. And I think that amoung all the self congratulatory back patting that goes on in the Oprahverse, good DOES get done.
But really...Oprah, blech. The "secret" shilling killed it for me. That, and she reminds me of a family friend who loves to boast about his "anonymous" charitable donations....
Still....hmm..there are worse people in the world.
One of em died today!
Do we know that?
Do we know she never would have consented had she known at that moment?
God...I can't believe I am asking this question...but I am trying to remove the revulsion I feel and just think..
We dont really KNOW what her thoughts were on the brother at the time..
You make some excellent points though.
I find it absolutely impossible to believe this woman couldn't tell the difference between her lover and his brother.
Rape is a hands off topic for me normally, because I would rather err on the side of caution then have someone get away with it.....truly. I am even sexist enough to have a natural bias in favor of the woman, but.....
But... this is a case where, unless the woman in question is more than a little bit mentally impaired, she needs to take a little responsibility here.
The brother is.....well..a pig, surely. This goes without saying. But I don't think it's rape.
"Sitting in the wrong seat
Jane Fonda got a lot of flak and name calling for sitting on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun during that war. Remember "Hanoi Jane"? Watching her sit in Colbert's lap reminded me of that older seating error. Perhaps she just has bad judgement?
-- ajbuckle "
"Rember Hanoi Jane?"....surely THAT chestnut has rotted clean away...
But how gleeful you must feel for getting to insert it..eh..somewhere.
I have a better suggestion where to put it.
I know the temple of which you speak. One of the most delicious veggie meals I have EVER had....amazing...
And inexpensive.
And low key and friendly.
And the gift shop rocks.
Very nice place, and I tend to be a martinis and steak kinda girl.
"Uberfemme intolerance
Not embracing others diverse viewpoints. How Unliberal!
Guess if many (especially on here) liberals use the term "Faux News" wow, they don't say the exact same thing- they are diverse !
-Palmerblade"
Ooooh! My Very Favorite Winger Comeback! ...the "How Unliberal!" ......a piquant and always amusing variant of : "HOW DARE you not tolerate my intolerance!"
The point of my post was that both sides do the same thing. I stated that IN THE POST ITSELF. What you "argued" above? Same thing. I said it....again..in the original post.
Reading comprehension is your friend.
Anyway,
Thanks for still existing! I love a good throwback.
My first insult!
Thank you, anonymous!
Wee!
