"How would I reward Heather for this column?
A week in a locked room alone with Alec Baldwin should about do it.
--Anonymous"
I can't help it. He has been my Estranged Imaginary Celebrity Boyfriend for 20 years and counting....what can I say?
Truly Heather...let me.
As to his behavior? Lousy. And his choice in ex-wife?..Double Lousy...much like many folks in the world. Doesn't make it ok, but it is hardly the stuff of legend. And its certainly none of my fucking BUSINESS.
Meanwhile....I think I shall watch "Mini's First Time"..again...not cuz its good, cuz its not, reall....just cuz HE's in it...and he's good in everything he does....
...on screen...
...and thats all I require of him.
Baldwin's been my imaginary boyfriend for years. I have loved him for decades, and weight gain or no, he is one of the handsomest beings I have ever beheld.
Still...What I love him FOR is his acting, and the fact that he is smart and funny and articulate and makes a great guest on "Real Time". I don't give two shits about his personal life
Methinks he wont quit....he's just pissed...and who wouldn't be?
Man, is this little episode with his daughter none of my fucking business or what...?
Stephanie....I agree with you, girl.
Good on ya.
Can't agree with you, Joan..
Sorry. Keith, goddess bless and keep him, is most definitely partisan, and should probably not be involved in the debates.
The real difference here between Keith O. and Bill O.?....One's a dick, and one is a defender of truth, justice and the American way.
Who is what... depends on where you fall in the spectrum.
Both sides are abosolutely, positively, sure they have it right. They can't even imagine how the other side could think the way they do. both sides think they have a lock on both logic and facts. They are sure of it like they know the sky is blue.
Now.....
I'm a liberal democrat....so...I'm right, of course.
...I'm just talking about OTHER people......
Always full of lots of personal insults, passive aggressiveness and talking points....while at the same time accusing someone of making personal insults, using passive agressiveness and talking points..
Also...the word "interesting" will be used a lot, as in "isnt it interesting...." or "isnt that interesting"..when what they truly mean is "aren't you a fucking idiot...and may I point it out 'politely'?"
The weird part is how they are all the same that way. Like its a collective mind...with a certain look and style. You know...like Anime!
Of course...there are MANY on the liberal side who do the same damn thing. I know. Its my side.
I just find it....."interesting."
My first insult!
Thank you, anonymous!
Wee!
"Uberfemme intolerance
Not embracing others diverse viewpoints. How Unliberal!
Guess if many (especially on here) liberals use the term "Faux News" wow, they don't say the exact same thing- they are diverse !
-Palmerblade"
Ooooh! My Very Favorite Winger Comeback! ...the "How Unliberal!" ......a piquant and always amusing variant of : "HOW DARE you not tolerate my intolerance!"
The point of my post was that both sides do the same thing. I stated that IN THE POST ITSELF. What you "argued" above? Same thing. I said it....again..in the original post.
Reading comprehension is your friend.
Anyway,
Thanks for still existing! I love a good throwback.
I know the temple of which you speak. One of the most delicious veggie meals I have EVER had....amazing...
And inexpensive.
And low key and friendly.
And the gift shop rocks.
Very nice place, and I tend to be a martinis and steak kinda girl.
"Sitting in the wrong seat
Jane Fonda got a lot of flak and name calling for sitting on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun during that war. Remember "Hanoi Jane"? Watching her sit in Colbert's lap reminded me of that older seating error. Perhaps she just has bad judgement?
-- ajbuckle "
"Rember Hanoi Jane?"....surely THAT chestnut has rotted clean away...
But how gleeful you must feel for getting to insert it..eh..somewhere.
I have a better suggestion where to put it.
I find it absolutely impossible to believe this woman couldn't tell the difference between her lover and his brother.
Rape is a hands off topic for me normally, because I would rather err on the side of caution then have someone get away with it.....truly. I am even sexist enough to have a natural bias in favor of the woman, but.....
But... this is a case where, unless the woman in question is more than a little bit mentally impaired, she needs to take a little responsibility here.
The brother is.....well..a pig, surely. This goes without saying. But I don't think it's rape.
Do we know that?
Do we know she never would have consented had she known at that moment?
God...I can't believe I am asking this question...but I am trying to remove the revulsion I feel and just think..
We dont really KNOW what her thoughts were on the brother at the time..
You make some excellent points though.
Just tacky, as the first poster stated.
God, I used to like Oprah. Thought she was a good actor. Then, I didn't like the show, but hey, liked the magazine, being upbeat and not about fat, fat and more fat and how to get rid of it lest one live a life of pain and horror forever more.
So... that was nice. And I think that amoung all the self congratulatory back patting that goes on in the Oprahverse, good DOES get done.
But really...Oprah, blech. The "secret" shilling killed it for me. That, and she reminds me of a family friend who loves to boast about his "anonymous" charitable donations....
Still....hmm..there are worse people in the world.
One of em died today!
