The "Pushing" of Religion
[Read the article: What's wrong with science as religion]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ah,
Sounds like the real problem isn't the religion of Science, it's the Other religions. It's our fault. See, we PUSH our religion on people... very unlike great folks like you that simply and loudly tout your belief systems to the high heaven and in the courts and in the streets and in books and in movies and in the classroom and everywhere else you can...
Its truly FINE for you to tout and expouse and blare out your belief systems in every media, every day.....
But, if I say something terrible like "God bless you" I'm the bad person.
Good think we cleared that up.
Of course, I have to assume that you won't reply to what I'm saying here, since if you do, you'll be "pushing" your belief system on me....and you wouldn't want to do that, right?

Thanks Science Friends!
[Read the article: What's wrong with science as religion]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Thanks so much for clearing everything up for me.
Let's see if I got it.
1) I'm dumb because I believe in God. No "thinking person" would have a grain of "faith." Gotcha. Thanks for that.
2) You are brilliant because you don't really have "faith" in anything. You KNOW. You are so smart that you have personally experienced evolution and the Big Bang and all that.... because if you just read about it, that would put you in my boat (faith) and you are soooo above all that. Thanks for that too!
3) Science isn't a religion because.... well, just because!
Excellent! I am now informed and ever so greatful.
Woo hoo!
And don't look here
http://emporium.turnpike.net/C/cs/
or here
http://emporium.turnpike.net/C/cs/cartoon.htm
it's just a bunch of scientists talking about the facts about evolution. No need to check that out because your.... knowledge... would prevent you from listening to another viewpoint because you are so open minded that you know all!
Thanks again!

Hi, Perbaly
[Read the article: The attention-driven Warren]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Goodness.
It's one thing to report on facts. It's another to share opinions. But to categorically state as fact a metaphor that, at best, is illustrative of a possible direction, is just silly.
I have a suggestion for anyone that has an ignorant (read: uninformed), opinion of Pastor Warren. Before launching a moonshot of derision, get some facts.
Go to your local bookstore and pick up A Purpose Driven Life. Open it anywhere and look for some ego-driven agenda. Better yet, go to Saddleback, the church or site, and look for Ricks' ego. It's not there.
It's not about you. It's not about him. Life, if it has any meaning at all, is about US. All of us, working together to build a better world.
Does that sound egotistical?

The frame for this insanity
[Read the article: McCain's Palin pick is the epitome of tokenism]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sarah Palin is: "The Harriet Miers of VP choices."
Nice, conservative, completely unqualified. Spread the word.

Alaska is really pretty small
[Read the article: It's the size that counts]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]More than 80% of Alaska is government-owned land. Actually, Alaska, the state-controlled part, is a fairly small state. So, Sarah Palin is no big deal in any regard.

A Sandbag Operation
[Read the article: McCain-Obama, Debate 2]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Brokaw is in the tank for McCain and the debate is being held on a Christian University with only five Obama supporters... it will be a full on GOP event.
Not good.
