Original article: The politics of not nice

Wow! You even spelled Edwards' name correctly.

For the longest time I've been wondering if this site was aware of Edwards as a force in this campaign. Quite frankly, he's defined the terms of this debate. Period. Obama has in no way shape or form had any position prior to Edwards. Yet, they are both on the same path. (Minus, of course, Obamas hedging to the Right Wing of all places! Wow! Talk about your intelopers)

Clinton, as is well known, on the other hand hasn't even considered staking out any territory not triangulated.

So any shape of this contest isn't at all due to her.

That is, except for the promotion of her assumed Progressive bent detailed by media...present company DEFINITELY included.

Joan, your "I started to ask a question..." schtick almost had me laughing out loud. I saw that speech you referred to. Edwards detailed the influence of corporate power on the enviornment, trade, health care, the war in Iraq. (Detail is the operative word!) He spoke in strong, unequivocal terms and used the phrase after those examples of, "Corporate Power involves every aspect of our lives."

All you had to Joan is match that with the policies he's outlined to know they directly stop Corporate Power's above mentioned abuses.

Directly!

Sad, here we have a candidate as definitive as one could possibly be...In an age where the entire public wants to reject politics as usual...But the press is too damn immature to step up and do the work to report it.

Actually Joan, this article comes off as just another weekend travel report.

I'd be laughing once again at the inane political coverage of this site, if it were not in this case too tragic to ignore. Edwards' stands are courageous, well reasoned, and, quite frankly, inspiring to the point of making him seem like a 21st century version of JFK.

When will this self appointed intelligentsia that is the press wake up and recognize that, though?

ANS: As soon as the nomination is granted to someone else. They'll detail how, ala Gore, Edwards would have been a better choice!!!

Hope you enjoy your Latte, Joan. Thanks so much for checking in!!!

This is the second time THE comment misinterpreted the context.

I'm out here on the west coast, so I just finished watching the Democrats debate. (I'd very much love to get into, but I'll spare you, the Republicans dual personality of saying how Big Government is our biggest problem. But they'd be the strongest leader in this JIHAD against us they're convinced is going to last forever.)

Nonetheless, the remark Joan refers to misses the point. Just as did the story written on Yahoo. She, conveniently, leaves out how Hillary mentioned in passing how Barrack said Edwards was unelectable because of his position on Iraq. Mentioning that is like spraying cigar smoke in the air to see rings even though someone with lung cancer is in the vicinity. Hillary tried, again, to have it both ways. She wanted to spear Obama and Edwards both, but Edwards laid into her. Surprised her, actually...and Hillary lost it.

How Joan isn't commenting on that is "interesting."

Hillary became all but unraveled. She had more than a minute of a temper similar to Bush during his storied very poor debate performances versus Kerry.

But then again maybe Joan got turned on by that?

Seeing that Hillary was so over the top I'm left only concluding that...except for one other thing...THIS SITE NEEDS A REAL POLITICAL TEAM OF REPORTERS!!!

JOAN, FOR THE FIFTY MILLIONTH TIME WILL YOU PLEASE STICK TO JUST BEING THE EDITOR HERE. MSNBC/HARDBALL/MSM ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BE THERE...IN OTHER WORDS THEY'LL CALL IF THEY'RE INTERESTED, K???

THANKS!!!

Original article: Listening to Obama

Please don't bring us more. Please...

This new style reporting of a serious issue is about the last thing we need. It's one thing to assume that assuming the prattle of blogging is going to automatically equal a substitute for any position being taken. But quite another indeed to list instances that are so far removed from reality as insights to our most significant issues.

The one instance that really rings a bell here is Obama's insistence that he'd be building consensus with Republicans outside Washington.

Wow! What trash!

Obama is clearly a Democratic version of "don't worry be happy." In an anti-intellectual society that's a propaganda push that can go a long way. So, I'm beginning to understand his win now, too. And the damage his craven, immature, and totally selfish Presidency will do to this country will be a horrendous consequence; probably even immediately so.

What do you think he's going to do when Big Oil, Big Drugs, Big Banking, Major Media Companies and the Military Industrial Complex sit down and talk about their inordinate profits?

Well, one thing we know is that they are going to simply tell HIM the check is in the mail!

And if he doesn't report as such they're going to accuse him of being unwilling to compromise!

He hasn't set himself up, though. He's simply willing to trade his country for fifteen minutes of fame. His whole act is a charade. Republicans don't have any power, and he knows it. Building consensus with even Newt Gingrich would be the biggest waste of time and Obama knows it.

One last comment, too. Joan Walsh is a pitiful editor.

Pitiful!

Her blogging is no substitute for a site that prides itself on being cutting edge on the social, cultural and political issues of these times.

Surely there are voice more appropriate.

FIRE HER!!!

"You have good reason to angry," Obama says. Translation: Beware of anyone who feels your pain.
