Original article: We are the Thought Police

I wonder if this gentleman and his fine efforts would mind a counter?

To say this article was well written would be to state the obvious. Yet, simple things shouldn't be taken for granted...especially when they motivate in positive ways. Not only did this story deal with various issues with solid facts, it did so with a tempo that gave the meat on its bones an engaging taste.

Quite frankly, this is a poignant, powerful and painful image of a dark episode that Salon should commit itself to more often. It would take this site to the next level, for sure.

But even with that said, I still need to mention a few disagreements. Orwell didn't let the Proles off Scott-Free, yet, this article implies otherwise. The fat lady singing hanging wash was "the Prole" remember? Additionally, that a love affair was central to 1984 tells you, too, that life accepting what Double-Speak allowed wasn't life at all. Indeed, it was brainwashing. A brainwashing due to a free people (people are always free) letting their own government have more than it was due. Willfully brainwashed, thinking, and, feeling was given over to Big Brother...implying weakness to the point of sloth. In that way the "man on the street" got their comeuppance in 1984.

Remember, Winston feared his co-workers, feared them even though he knew for a fact!, his co-workers were just like him.

The focus was the power structure in 1984, though, and simply because it was the biggest criminal. Only for that reason was the story told. And, yet, even with that knowledge we are at this point. Polanyi made similar points in "The Great Transformation." He talked about how markets gut society in so many ways only so a certain class can succeed. But he made sure as well to discuss paupers accepting poverty, and, therefore, giving ammunition to those who claimed a "free market" was the only tool to produce goods in a civilized state.

The future is what comes to be important when a society fails, and this article detailed everything but that. Even though we know how Fascist Europe escaped its failure through the worst war ever!, Journalists refuse to even see the future because Journalistic Standards state the future is simply opinion and unable to be dealt with objectively. Even though we are currently living on right on the edges of Fascism Orwell and Polanyi educated us about.

Wow!

I wish I had the time to put in play some of the issues that leaves untouched here. But, for sure, the Proles / Americans this article sees as willfully ignoring facts will soon be showing themselves as a peasant army. Revolutions invariably meet resistance from the masses rejecting progress. Salon needs to speak to those facts for its reader's benefits. Salon readers deserve to know the cost of progress since they're going to cross that bridge under difficult enough circumstances already.

A good start in that regard, too, would be for Joan Walsh to stop shilling for MSNBC. Lead by example, in other words. In other words, some people do want the truth, and they don't need an important outlet they use steering them away from it and toward its corporate representation!

Thanks for the efforts of this article!

Original article: Sexiest Man Living 2007

Hello. I'm right here!

Sexiest Man?

Get a friggin camera why don't you?

Listen, I tire often of the meandering ramblings of this site. But this oversight...this extreme negligence in assessing facts...takes the cake!

To say the least, the description of what it is that makes me incredibly the sexiest man alive would have catapulted this site to the front of a long line of sites hoping to be known as niche. Political activist, humorist, possessor of an intellect that takes social and cultural criticism to a high art....and less we forget, very damn good looking too!

Very damn good looking!

How good looking you ask?

Well, let's just say Mona Lisa wants me. Yea, that's right. Mona Lisa, Cleopatra, Nefertiti, Beyonce and Jezebel herself all know who's got the look!

So why doesn't Salon?

Since I know you don't know, let me just say this.

Maybe next year you'll get it right!

Hillary's a Fascist! Period!

What?

You need more than the above? Well, that's on you and your naivete. Expecting me to be sympathetic about her due to the friction she causes this society is the last thing that's going to happen. But since it gives me great pleasure to oblige in education you weaklings let me refer you to her attempt to ban flag burning. Let's also comment on her repeated expressions of her experience inside the White House.

Eight years of not being the President makes her the President somehow!

When her experience should have told her to get her sociopathic ass out of the way!

Instead she's dragging the country through psychotic episode after psychotic episode!

Hey, all she has to do is spend time at home if that's her real flavor!

Hillary Clinton is a Fascist!

Got it now?!
