Again, Salon talks about the war via pap! But since this time it was under the guise of poetry, I guess I should be impressed?

Listen, you lazy and frightened editors of this site: Any reference to Vietnam for the war in Iraq is a sham. An absolute disregard for the lives lost in either war. Vietnam was an actual part of this country's continuing history. This war is simply an illusion. Americans sit home and respond to polls as responses to this war. Contradicting to the hilt whenever it's convenient as evidenced by the innumerable times they've indicated they'll take to the streets, for sure! if defunding the war occurs.

Then you will see a march. But for war, I guarantee it!

But I also bet you'll still publish / soft pedal these lines of feel good bravado in response!

How can you possibly write a story about this country's current state by soft pedaling a perspective that refuses to face facts?

Is it perhaps because you lack any maturity whatsoever?

Here's the deal, you listless set of losers: America has gone Orwellian. Period. The surge was definitive in proving that. Bush lied so callously about the use of war to further nothing other than government for a few that he didn't even have to worry about a negative response. It was that easy for him to do so. His report on the surge was high-noon, but Americans were so fucking drugged out by their consumer high they didn't even realize they were one's in the cross hairs.

His response to the surge was met by Americans treating it similar to everything else they see on TV. As soon as it was over, it became forgotten since it led to nothing that could be bought. (Except, of course, for The MI Complex / Blackwater types.)

Salon has neither the capability nor energy to address the reality that implies. But in order to lead anyone who'll listen that they're providing a service they run these lazy- ass quixotic dances. These hollow pangs of supposed consciousness and foresight that are actually nothing but obfuscations they probably celebrate themselves for. Or may not even be conscious of! This guy's perspective could not be more effete, and hiding behind Vietnam is disgusting!

It's a fucking outrage!

Pedal this crap to people who grew up watching Friends and Seinfeld to conquer the world. But trust and believe that this story could not be further from the truth, and would have served the same purpose if read on Mars!

Thanks for the laughs, Salon. Trust me, though, I'm not laughing with you!

Is the Senate dead but nobody's sent them a memo?

A man says he's pretty much aware torture may be getting authorized (well, ok, not torture but 'controversial interrogation techinques') but no Senator inquires into how he came about this knowledge.

What, or what is not, torture may be a gray area if only you're gray matter has left the building!

But for the entire Senate Judiciary Committe not to follow Mukasey's statements where they may lead....well, that's a sign of a dead body if there ever were one.

Smart money states Mukasey's confirmed. This part of the Senate is obviously too important being dead to suffer through properly nominating THE TOP LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL FOR THE ENTIRE FUCKING COUNTRY!!!

Taking time out of a busy schedule to apologize for earlier comments about Mukasey.

Like it or not, Mukasey gave, in my opinion, an appropriate response to questions about waterboarding. It was to protect the rights of those facing potential prosecution that his comments referred to, and those comments made perfect sense.

I only hope he stands to apply the same fairness to those who may not fit within his political spectrum, that only time will tell. But for now, endagering the legal process for those who may have only been following orders to use certain interrogation techniques is fair and proper.

Thanks!
